I'm a wee bit confused....

Finished the game on casual and hardcore... working through insane...

however decided to play some ranked online ....

and what i've realized is...

not a damn thing i do seems to matter, i can be square, right on the money, in thier face, with a ARed shotty, and no deal any damage at all, i can even HEAR the other people asking what i'm shooting at.... which i find odd since i'm usually using the zoom function to make sure i'm accurate...


What's REALLY driving me nutz is that 50% of the time, i can see the wall directly behind them getting blown away, hell even sniper shots that are zoomed in and accurate to the head, the bullet trail clearly SHOWS it going through, but no damage is dilivered..

to further confirm this oddity.... i tried it LOCAL to rule out lag of any type...

you can one minute, shot them for an instant kill one minute, and the next, it passes straight through them.

Anyone else experience this?


It's also very difficult to build of any experience as nearly every matched game/rank or not ranked, seems to have players filling the boards, that don't even aim/zoom at all, simply shoot away and gets a headshot everytime nearly.

Tried looking around online for some tips or tricks, pretty much everything mentioned there is what i had already new.

Course i haven't played it long, call it what, 10 hours of the solo/co-op mode and i just put in about 4 hours of the online mode. (bloody irritating finding decent hosts, 50% of them seems to provide a really horrid connection or something)...

BTW, both headsets that i had received appear to be flaky, anyone else find this..

slap it into the controller, and even with the mute turned on, people seem to complain about echoing, and everytime someone talks, my mic turns on.... top it off, it's extremely staticy... move the controller an inch, and it's just a nasty sound, and muted yet again, it produces static for everyone else as well. Tried 2 headsets on 2 different controllers... same thing...


It's really interesting though, one moment i've been booed off/booted off whomever is hosting.... the next i can roll in and get a few kills. Kinda sucks i can't talk to anyone cause of the whole mic issue... but i'm usually lucky if i can get a single kill in durring a entire match... Guess it's mostly my play strategy with teamwork baised games. (they really need to fix the ranking system to include assists)..

Usually i'm keeping them busy while a teammate flanks and nails em. Course i get nothing for it, even though i clearly had thier attention... perhaps GoW2 will resolve that...

Oh, and one last thing if anyone knows..

Doesn't 3 "what appear to look like grey bars" for host connections, mean the best? 2 is yellowish for medium i'm guessing and 1 is red for BAD....?

If so, like i mentioned before, why do alot of those seem to have BAD connections to them after i've joined?


My Xbox360 gamertag is DHJudas, cause every other bloody combination was taken.... I'd be interested in a game....

Gears MP is glitched and full of bugs and to make matters worst it has one of the worst netcode i ever seen. So don't freak out.

BTW some tips. If your behind a router be sure your NAT is not restricted because if it is you may have trouble connecting to games and vice versa. Try and host some games youll see it makes a HUGE difference, host advantage is really big in this game. Try to connect to games with all 3 grey bars they usually mean the host is near you and youll have a better ping and less lag. Oh and the 360 headsets suck balls bad, cheapest piece of plastic ever, i'm on my third and i threat them with care.

Been reading through more.....

Apparently there been a bunch of people studing this game way more then i'd every bother trying to get into..... they wanna be the pros.... go for it... i'm here for the fun of playing.... not for winning none stop reguardless of what may happen.... Sure winning is nice....

Apparently simple zooming with the sniper is pure luck (which kinda sucks, my luck is royally shitty imo).... i've watched people simple zoom headshot 3 people in a row... almost brings back memories of Counter strike source headshot hacks.

The whole shotgun crap... apparently you can to kinda shoot OVER thier head... so i'm going to assume the hitbox for the models is set oddly.....

Toying around by keeping a stationary target.... if you do a foward role towards them and then emediately fire while aiming up without zooming.... you can almost guarantee a headshot..

I think my biggest problem is over aiming.... i've always had this problem, usually have to have an extremely low sensitivity, and i still flail madly, set it any higher and i'm pulling circles.... Even with a mouse lol... UT2004, used 1.5 sensivity where as normal is 3.5 i beleive... some people play @ 9.00+...

Probably what's throwing me off is that the aiming is dynamic..... the harder and longer you crank it in the direction, the faster it'll go that way... but it doesn't seem to have a slow enough starting point, quite often i'm moving a full inch in either direction/up or down/left or right, and if i go a notch lower, it just CRAWLS way to slowly, meaning, by the time i get any form of accurate shot sorted out, the other guy has already been able to snipe, AR, snipe again....

Course i guess it doesn't help that i'm currently playing this game on a 15" Standard Tube TV using Video in, and optical out to the Z-5500.... (currently don't have any HDTV/LCD in stock lol)...
