This is quite a surprising demo... Looks good and the graphics has a small resemblance to Gears Of War on the 360.

well i started the game
looks amazing..flat out- loved undying- havent beaten it yet but soon hehe

this game is wicked..well atleast until the game stalls every 15-20 seconds...

i dont get it..its F*ing annoying..i didnt have time to test it out earlier in the day because of work- but now right after im done typing this message im going to give it another whirl..hopefully i can figure this one out..im annoyed as hell..the menu is bloody i love it! the actual game loads..i see the squad..the rain- the everything is gorgeous..but even in menu there is a brief pause every 15-20 seconds...but no sound stuttering. the sound continues normally..

so two questions- does this support CF? i have Vsynch ON- would this matter?

well time to test...yay... oh im running bioshock- maxxed out- well sometimes it works with AA sometimes it doesnt also annoying..to why companies cant get the drivers right..common- i didnt spend 800 for two cards to not have aa (i know i know its not easy to manufacture and make drivers no worries i appreciate all of their work!) - well cheers folks- thanks in advance and game on!

so far this game is getting an 8.5/10 from me based on demo alone- clive barker is the man when it comes to this! if the polished version is smoother and i can fix this little pause issue..then i can give it the 10/10 it deserves!

well i took off CFire did nothing- i lowered graphics did nothing...even in men it pauses for seconds.. so annoying- makes me scared to buy games at all- should be able to rent or something this is nuts. im sick and tired of a kick ass looking game not working out for me.

im going to install the latest drivers from ati.. who knows..ill give it a try- but im ticked - atleast undying works!!

im running the game maxed out with no AA and at 1600x1200. im running at 30-35fps with no hitching or stalling at all.

well thats awesome for everyone else it still messes up for me...the only thing left to do..not now, in the morning, will be to uninstall drivers again- and reinstall them again.

im going to try one more thing beffore i sleep. the game itself is HIGH in FPS_ but it stalls

im not even Oc'ing at the moment either- thought that might help..didnt.

I've downloaded this demo TWICE now and both times I get a "corrupted file" error when trying to extract it.

EDIT: Even the THIRD attempt is corrupted!!! I'm even downloading from different sites trying to get a good download. Each one is telling me that the .exe is corrupted. This time, I'm saving it to a different HD. Sheesh!! I've not had this kind of trouble since dial-up days!!!

check that one of your memory modules isn't faulty. This can happen if you are downloading a large file and the data reads into a faulty module.

Actually, that was in the back of my mind during all this. I've been focused on some other things while doing the downloads. I need to get a lot of junk off my HDDs and I've been re-organizing my office. Got a nice 'bonus' last night at work.

ok so i had some better luck...what did i do? did a virus scan via adaware- got rid of some junk..cleared my HD's a bit- need to clear more tomorrow- i also Oc'd my cpu

it is a 4400 X2 athlon- i have it back to 2500mhz with a 1:1 ratio

but later on the game started to stall again...it starts off a slow small stall to larger ones..

now i know what your thinking it is prob the OC- i didnt even run Prime or nothing- but its the same settings i have been using for 1 year- with no issues- but to be safe im running it right before i sleep for a few hours-

now- regardless of all that mess the game still starts to mess- but i did get a chance to fight- and see the wicked graphics motion blur is incredible and i love depth field or whatnot - that is truely amazing!

im going to basically wait it out till the real release- im going to bioshock for a bit now to see how it plays with the oc-

anyways thanks for any info in advance. def oging to run defrag right before i sleep as well- over prime. night night

As for the downloads: It even came corrupted using the FilePlanet Download Manager. (No, I haven't done anything with the RAM yet.) I'm presently downloading onto my 2nd rig to see what results with that. Then, if it's still corrupted, I'm off to bed for now.

it has happened to me before in the past, a faultly ram module on a stick can sometimes only come into play at a certain point within windows or when downloading a large file, so its corrupting the download at a specific point.

Install memtest+ and make a bootable cd, then let it test via DOS before windows starts. should be easy to find this way.

If I remember correctly, the installer wouldn't extract for me either. Just use winrar in those cases and manually extract the contents to a folder then install it from there.

IIRC the "installer" extracts the file temporarily in the windows temp directory, so make sure you have enough room there.

I just finished the demo. I don't know what to make of it.
Graphics wise it looks great. Like Rainbow Six Vegas only with the undead. It SCREAMS port from consoles, but still manages to play very very like not one.

The demo had two sequences with "hit the correct key at the right time" "puzzle". I don't like them, but it works fine in this game and I don't mind it at all.

I will eventualy buy the game, just not as soon as possible. (money)




EDIT: 1) Hmm, for some reason the screenshot is reduced size. The original is 1920x1200.
2) I almost forgot. The game is very very very fluid. Feels like Quake 4. I doubt the framerate dropped bellow the vsync of 60 (top possible with vsync on)

@Zardon: Good call! I did run Memtest86+ and got some errors beginning at about 42-44% Pass. Reverted the RAM to 800 MHz and all the errors disappeared. I'll be doing some tweaking on this RAM over the next few days.

@OmegaRed: I've got over 200 GBs on the C: drive. Not a problem with Temp space. See note to Zardon.

@BlueMak: Imageshack will automatically reduce image size if the total FILE size gets exceeded. I've had the same thing happen.


Now, question for everyone: When you first start up the demo...which I really did NOT have anytime to spend with it as it was HOURS past my normal bedtime...does it appear that you're looking through a visor of some kind? This just really caught me off guard and I could NOT see where I was or where my buddies were. I'll likely boost the gamma some so I can see the environment better.

Wasn't this thread...or another one...posted in the Gaming Discussion forum? I thought for sure I'd posted a question and have been awaiting a response. ???

In the demo, "Church" has to shimmy down a hole and an Undead Lord or something, pounces on 'her' (I think the character is female, right? )

Anyway, there are some onscreen symbols showing up and I'm using the ARROW keys on my keyboard in response to those as they appear. But, so far, I haven't been able to take care of this creep.

Am I on the right track?

Now, what 'seems' to be needed is for me to move QUICKLY from using the Arrow Keys to using my Mouse to shoot up this creep. Is that correct? If it is, I'm very slow on the draw as I'm using my right hand to hit the keys and then having to grab the mouse very quickly.

I just need to know if I'm approaching this right.

Do you mean: A-W-S-D keys? Those are the movement keys, right? Is that what you're referring to?

The reason I ended up using the Arrow keys -- which are my "direction keys" -- is that it was those that worked as she was shimmying down the hole. Otherwise, she'd fall and die.

I said "your" cause you might not have the WASD keys for movement.

That's a strange issue you have there, are you sure?
I used the WASD in both sequences without any problem.
In fact, the demo is very short IMO. Good looking, but short. I am worried the full game will be similar.
