ET:QW Demo on PC - Won't Start

I've downloaded the demo, installed it, and tried to start it up. I get the Splash Screen then a black screen with my cursor in the middle, and then......CTD.

I've uninstalled it, rebooted, cleaned up the system, reinstalled the demo...and same result.

Anyone else having this problem?

EDIT: Resolved! Forgot to turn off some 'protection' software running in the background.

EDIT 2: It's actually FRAPS! that's keeping it from starting. Hmmm....

Is your system over clocked? If yes, you might want to try setting it at default speeds.

Is the demo single player? If yes I will download it to test it.

No overclocking whatsoever.

The only 'unofficial' thing on my system is that I'm presently using Omegadrivers based on 7.9 Cats. I may revert to the official drivers and hotfixes to see if makes any difference.

As far as I know, yes, this is SP. I got it downloaded via GameShadow.

The E6700's stock speed is 2.6GHz. So unless your specs are a typo it has to be overclocked.

I had the same problem, but it was Xfire causing the problem not fraps for me. If you want to see your framerate in Quake Wars ATT is working for me without a problem.

Yeah, I have ATT working, too.

BTW, when I said, SP, before, what it is is that you can set it up to play the Computer. That way you play bots instead of live opponents.

So the demo (perhaps even the full game) has no "campaign" or missions, but just like Unreal Tournament series?
