Shacknews now has an available download.

A day earlier than expected, the Crysis singleplayer demo is now available. The 1.77gb download includes one singleplayer level, and also allows you to look at the Sandbox2 editor.

In about 40 mins ill be in heaven (i hope)

10 second wait for me (but i guess i must of got the link as it went live)... i meant the actual D/L is hammered... the first 20% went through nice and quick.. the further 40% was quite slow.

Im still at 63% complete.And still around half an hour to get to grips with the demo.

Any other download links? Fileshack sucks.. it will not let me log in, and it won't send any emails to my account (even though it says it sent one) to make a new account or to access my original account. WTF.

you will get the confirmation email eventually, looks like their servers are getting totally hammered. but their whole interface is absolutely terrible, better waiting until tomorrow until some other sites get it. (sites that havent been coded by a bunch of monkeys).

Just imagine how many people have got pissed off after 45 minutes in the queue and clicked "Mercury for $1". then gotten roped into a automated recharge fee without knowing it.

also for those who said shacknews has great speeds, its capped to 5mbit on the free downloads (and you will be lucky to get half that right now due to the demand for this game). nothing great about that in 2007. I frequently have hit 20mbit on gamershell for nothing.

May of taken me 10 to 15 minutes longer than i expected from fileshack.And yes that is the free servers (i won't pay a penny for faster).

I now have this demo installed.And am so pleased my pc runs it at a reasonable spec & frame rate..

So far i am totally Fu£^ing gob smacked.This is going to be one hell of of a game and im pleased i have this pre-ordered.

ive been chatting with around 10 people on MSN tonight, 5 have been in a queue for 90 mins, 3 are getting 1mbit and 2 can't even get in queue. I think it would have been better if crysis has been released on even two sites for the public. so people had a bit of choice. But its all about the benjamin's.

As you say, you got it quick, and thats great, most people haven't, hence the complaints.

Doesn't bother me, ive had a build for a week or so but I can feel the pain !

B)Yes you have to give a teaser... (truthfully spoken) any FPS fanatic (like me) will hopefully be impressed.

C) Thats why i don't win Driverheaven Compos either.( i could say they are fixed but that's pushing my luck further).Besides i was only talking about a minutes head start ... jeez on my back already..

Besides it will be good to see if anyone has this demo and is able to upload some screen shots..As Print Screen is not working for me.

I am downloading it now, download speed over 80kb/s not bad considering. The Bioshock demo was much slower to download. Hopefuly this is better game than it, though I doubt it.

I love farcry, and still play it, except now i use the minigun hack... "It's payback time!".
FPSs are my fav type of game (and maybe some truck driving ala 18 wheels of steel), so i'm sure i'll like it. I enjoyed all the games i've played so far, and still have a boat load to play. When it comes to games my expectations are not too high, and i don't listen to hype. I install the game, turn down the lights, turn up the sound, disconnect the phones and play until there are no baddies left and i've completed the game. My motto is "No one left behind... alive".

I played the multiplayer beta and found it ok, but felt like it was farcry with some new textures and effects. The single player should offer more depth and purpose so i'm safe to say i'll be buying this one too.

im sure some of you will agree its good to see companies coding a 64 bit version of the game as well (for those on a 64 bit OS obviously).

Just finished playing the demo. Pretty fun.

Won't post any screenies since I only own a X800. Played it at 1280x1024 with everything on Low and the fps stayed at playable levels throughout the level. I'll experiment with advanced graphics settings later on. Good luck to you all with killer rigs.

Played on Normal difficulty.

AI is very smart. I will say a few times I would use the cloak on the nanosuit and I felt like I was cheating as I could walk right up to the enemies face and he wouldn't see me.

If you don't use the cloak and only use the other suit modes, it makes it much more fun as the enemy will actually shoot at you that way.

Stealth vs Rambo? I'd say go rambo for fun. It is almost too easy to bypass things with stealth.

I flanked a group of maybe 7 koreans, then popped each one in the back of the head with a silenced gun with one bullet. Was way to easy.

Breakable trees is cool, but a little over-hyped in my opinion. It's cool when one of the boats is shooting at you from the water and they hit a tree next to you and it falls.

Map layout is pretty cool as it feels like you are going from one end of the island to the other.

Sounds are good. Grenade sounds are fantastic. Turn up the subwoofer.

Overall, it was very fun. I think the game will tell an interesting story.

Played through it 3 or 4 times so far today. I like it, its a lot more interesting than FarCry was. I love the sheer variety presented to you in which to slaughter an enemy encampment. I find my self going wide and using cloak to pick people off one by one.

As for performance, I'm getting very smooth gameplay(havent fraps'd it yet though) @1280x1024 with everything set to high except post processing, shadows and physics which are set to medium.

edit: just used fraps and I get a consistent 40fps, and no freezing, but I do get some graphic bugs. I saw a few flashing textures on some rocks.

Played through it twice now, not a bad game. I agree with hornet, the variety you have combat-wise is really wonderful. Being a big FarCry fan, it feels nice to be back. The game does feel like farcry, but with better graphics (obviously), better AI, and the environment actually seems critical to the gameplay. The suit adds to it to make it unique from other FPS's.

I am dissappointed in performance though. I'm playing at 1156*whatever, most everything on high except for shaders (very high), textures (medium), and shadows (medium), and the game dips below 30 fps very often. I might try a dual boot of XP x64, as I've heard XP runs the game much smoother.
