CoD4 is so much fun!

So who else picked it up? I haven't even touched the single player. Multi player is so much fun, and its pretty crazy too. Graphics are incredible, and I have mine on mostly medium stuff cause my rig is getting a little long in the tooth. With most you guys and your quads/8800's I bet it looks incredible. Leave it to IW to bring back the awesomness of CoD and really show what DX9 can still do. Alright enough ranting like a fanboy, back to killin.

Im enjoying it VERY much!! Havent played SP much, but the MP is great! Lvl 17 ATM. I like there stats system, even though it seems you Lvl up very quickly. Maybe the higher ranks are allot harder to get.

Yah the "leveling up" process seems to be going pretty fast. I am starting to consciously go out and try and complete my challenges. I played WoW for a long time and it feels quite similar to the way you level a character in that. You get xp for kills, planting bombs, etc but completeing challenges gives a ton of xp too. I played for about 5 hours yesterday after I got it and my shiny new Samsung 226BW and reached Rank 19. One thing I am impressed by is the fact that for all the perks and new weapons available none are really overpowered when compared to the basic ones available when you first start.

Anyone have the 360 version ?.. I was planing on picking it up today. I think my home theatre 5.1 would be my reason to get the 360 version over my aging 2.1 PC sound.

Is the STEAM version going to be compatible with the other version? For online play.

Just finally got around to playing the Single Player (SP) Demo. I am immensely impressed with the great looking graphics and smooth gameplay. I have all graphics settings maxed out, and gameplay is smooth, no stuttering, no draging, and no sign of my system being strained at any time during the demo gameplay!!! and the night vision and smoke looks like the best I've ever seen in a game. The lighting is outstanding, as well.

I'm definitely getting this game!!!!

The only thing is that the SP Demo is way too short! LOL

So I decided to run the demo....a mistake. The game is very cool, runs very smooth, impressive production.

Why a mistake? Because from what I read the full single player campaing is 5 hours long. One or two evenings and you have finished the game!

thomasbarnes, the reason the demo is way too short is because it probably is like 10% of the full game.

I'm one who never, ever pays the full retail price on a new release. But, in the past week I've done so twice.

The first game was The Witcher.

The second one is CoD4. So far, I feel I've spent my money well on both.

INTENSE is the word for CoD4!!!

EDIT: I'm tempted to call in sick today so I can finish this FANTASTIC game. It's right at the top of the best games of all time!! At least, I think so!

Make sure you'll wait til the end of credits if you'll finish the game. You'll get a bonus stage which is really cool. Short, but cool.

So, I beat COD4 yesterday. I was playing with Veteran difficulty level and I could say that it's pretty frustrating sometimes to fight off 100 enemies alone and then die of 1 stray bullet... But I sure loved the story. Never seen anything like it and the multiplayer? GOD DAMN!!! They're finally made a game that sucks you in so deep you can't get out of it. I never played an FPS game in MP 4 hours straight. But yesterday...it kinda happened So, COD4 is worth the money and so much more.

I guess it's early but has anyone seen anything concerning unlocking classes/abilities for LAN gaming? I fear that else my LAN buddies and me are going to have to play half a game during our get togethers, since very few of us will play much online. I'm worried because a similar system in BF-2142 was a complete failure for LAN gaming. We're a bunch of mostly middle aged guys that don't LAN up as much as we used to, but we aim to have some fun later this month.

i swear that bonus mission is impossible on veteran mode.

If you read my post you'll see that I clearly posted ***SPOILER*** as a warning. So, no, it wasn't changed to a SPOILER thread as a result of that. Anyone responding should have also typed a warning as well. At least, now you know.

Dure Straits:

I know now. Honestly, I wasn't really thinking of those posts as spoilers. You just had me too excited and I posted some of my feelings, too. I did read your post, and I know you alerted us that a spoiler was coming. I just got all excited after reading your post, and forgot I may be posting a spoiler.

But I was just kidding about you ruining it for others because of your post.

I will be more careful in the future.

Great game!!! Cya all around.
