Logitech G25 Racing Wheel not supported on Xbox 360

I borrowed a Xbox 360 with the game DiRT a few weeks ago from a friend and gave it back later. I have a G25 racing wheel that I use with my pc. I did not know if the wheel worked with the console so I tried it. Unfortunately, it did not work. It's written on Logitech website that it works on pc, PS2 and PS3.

I was wondering if anybody knew why the G25 lacks Xbox 360 support. Is it because of Logitech or Microsoft?

Most probably Microsoft. Considering that the only wheel out there for the 360 currently is the Microsoft one. You can almost assume that Microsoft did not give out any information as to how to make a wheel work for the 360.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the console (360) needs drivers to support the wheel too.

Now you might say "But Microsoft already has their wheel out, which means wheels are supported." However, knowing Microsoft, they might have done some shady tricks to prevent 3rd party wheels from working.

Hypothetically speaking, a 360 wheel might need to send some sort of data to the 360 in order for the 360 to recognize it as a wheel device and without knowing that data, the wheel will not be recognized.

I hope you had your tin foil hat on while you read that.

There are other wheels, I've seen at least three others including one from Joytech and the Logitech DriveFX. But you're right about the issue starting with Microsoft, while it also involves individual game developer support.

The best explanation I've found so far concerning the G25 on the 360 is a forum post on logitech.com: Re: Enough is enough - Steering Wheels - Joysticks - Headsets - Gamepads - Logitech Forums
