360 + KVM switch
So, i picked up a 360 for myself recently, and i have it connected to my 226bw Samsung SyncMaster using the VGA cable adapter. Now, the issue i have with this, is that i have to switch my VGA cable between my monitor and the the 360 whenever i want to play on my 360. Then i have to reverse this when i want to use either of my two computers again.
The reason why i'm not using the DVI cable for my monitor is because i have it running off of a 2 port KVM switch between my main rig, and my work machine. My work machine does not support 1680x1050 res on DVI, so in order to run my monitor at 1680x1050, i'm using the VGA which goes to the KVM then to my monitor. Now my question. Will the 360 VGA adapter work using a KVM switch? I'm looking at getting this IOGEAR KVM switch, and it fits all my KVM needs perfectly well, and would like to use it. But, i'm not sure if the 360 supports use of a KVM switch. None of the review i read specifically state that it works on a 360, so they were of no use to me. I will keep searching for an answer, and also contact IOGEAR and see what they have to say about that.

I see no reason why it shouldnt work, i've seen it working before using a component switch box to display in 2 monitor, it's should work just as fine using VGA.

same here. but, there's been something that's been brought to my attention that i think would work just as well.
it's an HDMI exender with audio RCA left/right channel splitter. i could then plug in an HDMI to DVI cable to go to my monitor.

yep, but then i was also thinking. when i build my next machine, i'm still going to keep my current machine and make it into a file server. So, i'll need a new KVM switch anyways at one point or another. so, i might still opt for the KVM switch solution.
but until i come across which solution i go with, i'm stuck moving my monitor back and forth

Some mice and keyboards do NOT like kvm switches. Some monitors too. Google it for specific models just in case.
