Battlefield 2 keeps closing

Hey guys, my battlefield 2 keeps closing on me and i have no idea how to fix it. It does not make any sound or error message when it closes, its just gone, its especially frustrating when I'm about to do a nice car bombing and it just closes. any help is greatly appreciated. thx

Is the game updated to the newest version? What operating system you are using? Are all the drivers up-to-date?

Same problem happened to me when I had my cpu overclocked, games would just close without any warning. Was really frustrating trying to find the problem.

iv got windows XP SP3, the game is updated to 1.41, and my graphics drivers are up to date

Is your system overclocked?

You have punkbuster installed? If so is it updated to the latest update? If not you need too.

My intel 2.6 quad core is overclocked to 3.4 and works great in bf2.
