I was just on Mega Games and noticed the game Full Spectrum Warrior is free, it got decent reviews a few years ago. Not a bad download im sure for something 3-4 years old

I bought the game 3 years ago, never installed it. Now I don't have the discs with me, I might as well download it lol.
I think it is a good game, the demo was definetely fun.

I downloaded this and installed it. It's actually quite interesting. The squad control kind of reminds me of RB6:V. But, it's different. I just got through the Training sessions and there's a bit of a problem with the Cutscenes.... I only get to see the right 1/5 of the video. Once it goes into the game, it's fine. I'll post up a few screenshots in a little bit.

But, in the meantime, has anyone come across a fix for this?

UPDATE/BUMP:

The game seems to have some serious bugs in it. Among them:

1. My comrades can't shoot the side of a wide barn. Seriously! An enemy can be standing less than 20 feet in front of them out in the wide open, and they'll let this guy take out 2 of my men before they even fire a shot. The team AI is atrocious!

2. Then, there are some enemies that spawn out of thin air right in front of the team and it's Mission Failed before you can blink an eye.

This game could be a LOT of fun and very challenging if it played right. But, at times it's downright aggravating.

Sadly, all or any of the patches that would correct this have been long forgotten about.

So, as it's a freebie, there's not a whole lot that can be done about it.

And then the worst: There are no saves on demand. Mission Failed = Start from the last save point and do it all over again.

I think you are supposed to order them to fire on the enemy to do so.

I have been. And, they still can't shoot the side of a barn. I've had them empty clips and still not hit the enemy. Quite frustrating.

EDIT: This is just so totally frustrating!!! I've got 8....count 'em....8 soldiers against 1 enemy who decides to run across a wide open street from a building corner to a car and none...count 'em...NONE...of my soldiers can shoot him. He's sitting behind that car and taking potshots at my guy's who take damage...but he's taking NONE. There's something wrong with this game.

Even when he was at the corner of the building, he stands out from the corner where any....ANY...marksman can take him down with one....ONE....shot and NONE of the shots are hitting him.

No wonder this game is free!

Yes, and a few tips online, too. These guys still can't hit the side of a barn. They'll unload a whole clip and never shoot the enemy. (Well, I can't say "never" but, when they finally do, it's quite a relief...and time to make a trip back to CASEVAC so they can restock.)

From my experience so far, it could have been a lot better than it is.

EDIT: Video Uploaded. We pick up the action in progress. This is just a very small and short example of how frustrating this is. We finally nailed this guy, but, the video I got just before this one showed him taking down 2 of my guys while the 4 across the alley were doing crapshoots.

You know how they fire at the enemy and say "suppressive fire"? Well, the point is not to kill the enemy but to scare him to not attack/move. Then you move the other squad for the kill.
So, in this case, you could use the other squad to go near the wall and approach the enemy, and frag his ass, while providing suppressive fire.

I wonder, if there is a command for something else than suppressive fire.

I've been looking everywhere for a 'kill' command. Haven't found it yet. It's dumb that it's not available or not apparently so, anyway.

EDIT: FWIW, I'm done with this game for the time being. If anyone comes up with a method to direct fire AT the TARGET instead of at the Wall, the Ground, the Sky, or anywhere other than AT THE TARGET, I'll be greatly indebted. But, this military game that does NOT allow the enemy to be targeted is going to sit idle until a remedy is forthcoming OR, if not, it's getting uninstalled after a brief waiting period.

Now, just briefly, it was mentioned about moving one squad into position so that the other squad can move up to frag the enemy. Well, in this game, you are also greatly limited on your supply of grenades. Even when you reach a save point and visit the CASEVAC, the only ammo you get is BULLETS. You don't get grenades unless you find a supply truck that has those. So, this only adds to the frustration of the squad not shooting to kill any enemy on sight! You waste a LOT of bullets that could otherwise be saved for other encounters.

And, to think, the military commissioned this project. ???
