Dead Space - I absolutely loved "The Thing" and Event Horizon

Far Cry 2 - Looks like how I would have wanted the original Far Cry to be (without mutants or a sh*tty storyline)

Fallout 3 - Because who the f*ck isn't goin to buy it? Looks like one of the best games I've ever seen and incorporates everything I ever wanted in an rpg.



I was thinking about buying all three but I wanted some quality input on each before buying (cept fallout 3).

Well, from the two I would get both.

From the 3, I would get Fallout 3 (and I am), if nothing else than the DRM in the two other.

All three are very good games. Well, F3 should be a good game.

Given you hated STALKER and FarCry, I don't know why you would want to get Far Cry 2. It's a great game, IMO, but its sort of "STALKER but better, and set in Africa".

Stalker was boring for me. I really couldn't pay attention to the storyline for any of the quests. Prolly because it was all reading.


Far Cry's story just ruined the game for me, along with the cheesy 90's action hero voice acting.

I've been playing Dead Space and Far Cry 2 this weekend and both are must have games. Dead Space in particular runs flawlessly all maxed out with 4xAA on my rig which means it'll be even smoother on yours. Haven't gotten a crack at Fallout 3 yet but like you said it's a no brainer.

Since all 3 games are great maybe you'll want to use the length of gameplay and longevity as the basis of your decision; in that case I'd go with Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3, thanks to the multiplayer and 30 hour campaign of the first and the RPG background of the latter providing endless variety. Also, Dead Space has horrible controls unless you have a 360 gamepad (my PS2 gamepad won't work properly with it) so it needs a patch asap.
