You can either reload an earlier save game, or use console to respawn him. (There is also a bug, that people tend to fall of the map and die in megaton, and you have to use the console to respawn them). I had the same problem with the water guy who works in the water purification.

I am level 12 I think. Sheriff died when I was 2 or 3 or something. What does a house gives you? I am not going to load an old game, but would be nice to know.

I like the game a lot. I wish there was an option to auto pause the game when I am under attack, cause the very fast reaction times needed when you are suddently attacked by a hidden or something, enemy, doesn't go well with the slower than usual FPS games that Fallout 3 is.

And that weapons did not get damaged so fast or easier to repair them (no same weapon required).

Apart from those two things and I guess what it looks like the game not using the second GPU core, the game is IMO Game of the Year material.

- a place to rest (you get "Well rested" and get 10% more XP)
- you can buy your own infirmary, laboratory and workbench
- you can buy a jukebox
- bobblehead collector's stand
- robobutler with funny jokes

You can even buy a decoration theme for your house. I have currently the wasteland explorer theme There is also a slaver one, but I don't want to find out what it looks like

You can buy or get a suite in "a place" if you nuke megaton. So, you can still get your own place.

BTW: Does anyone know how to rotate the camera? I want to see my character up front.

I am since quit playing Fallout 3. I wish Bethesda would of put in some sort of lock so you can't visit places referring to the main storyline until you finish the quests before it. I just skipped half the story and never realized it until it was too late.

I guess it's the same as in real life. If you blow someone's head up, you can't ask him for directions later (well you can, but won't get any answer)

You can find a subway map in a terminal in some service tunnel, but I don't know it's exact location.

if you don't get the house in Megaton, you can still get a luxury suite in Tenpenny Tower if you open the generator room door for Roy Williams and let the ghouls attack

me personally, I don't think a house is all that important as I can always find empty beds to sleep in around the Wastelands

to use the Metro Tunnels you need to read the subway map outside of each Metro Station and look at which subway lines are active...if you see the location you want listed on the map then you can get there using that Metro Station tunnel

Level 19 now and a touch until level 20. 1 more mission until the ending, still got perhaps 50% of locations unexplored, but i beleive I've done all but 1 sidequest. I can see there's gonna be lots of different endings, anyone know how many endings there are?

After checking that site, I disabled for good the vsync. So the frame rate finaly went away from the 60 limit to at least 170 at some points. Another good thing about this change was that now the mouse doesn't feel like lagging at all and almost like a proper fps in terms of responsiveness.
Unfortunately there are two issues with this. First, the engine (same as in oblivion) has issues for years now and you can see them clearly, sudden slowdowns for no reason etc. Second, and most important, the game crashes (freezes) while playing. I will try it again and see if it continues, but if it does, it is hard to recommend turning vsync off in game (ini).

I wish there was a shortcut to use stimpacks without using the pip boy.

Fawkes is so awesome. He tanked a Behemoth for me while I clubbed it with a Super Sledge, praying that it wouldn't turn around. His voice was initially unnerving though... >_>

After installing catalyst driver 8.12 I can't exit the game without getting a black screen and I can't see a thing so I hate to press the power button to hear windows shutting down. (Vista 64).
If I play in windowed mode then no problems. But if in fullscreen then I can't do anything. I uninstalled the game, I uninstalled and re installed the drivers, then the game, nothing, same result. I changed AA and AF settings, nothing.
Apart from moving to older catalyst version, any suggestions?
