Re: Fallout 3
For those that are using the 1.1.0.35 patch, are you guys getting any funny transition problems? By this I mean when you go through a door or whatever that transitions from one scene to the next, such as going from inside to outside, instead of it going black, does it do anything else? I was just playing through the Reily's Rangers side mission where you go save her Rangers, and since then when I transition from place to place I get icons filling the screen instead of a full black screen, and all the icons are Fallout 3 related.
Really damn weird, and it has me worried that the save game is corrupt. |

Re: Fallout 3
I was having a CTD issue when transitioning from the courtyard into the Tenpenny Towers after letting the ghouls take over & they've cleaned it up (the first time I was going back in after killing all the humans & having allotted time for the feral ghouls to go away). This was before 1.1... patch. I patched. Then my latest saved game was corrupt. Next I removed the "no weapon/armor degrade" mod and the saved game worked fine but I was still getting CTD when I tried to transition. I spent a whle searchign around & finally tried turning off the "save on travel" option in game settings. That worked. After Ii got back into the "cleaned up" tower everything seems to be fine. I turned the auto save back on & no further problems. Weird. But that's the only serious issue I've had so far.
Now I just wish I could get the mod back to working. I'm a gun nut; guns do not wear out when you shoot 10 rounds through em. I have no problem with weapons starting out in a crappy state, but once you part 4 other guns into the one you are using & have it repaired up nice & high it should stay there. I actually would love a mod that would just turn off the degradation of weapons & leave the armor so it would fall apart. That is realistic IMHO. Tipstaff - have you had any problems with your mods & saved games post patch? I DL'ed & tried out FOMM and I think I like it (don't know what most of it is supposed to do...) but it looks useful & simple. Reading up on it today. Anyway, I have seen one or two weird screens since the patch but I wasn't paying a great deal of attention as I was focused on fixing the CTD problem. Blew all my time last night on that & only got to actually play for a bout 30 minutes & all that was spent just putting things in order, selling & buying & fixing my apartment up.

BTW, the fast acceleration issue? It's not just with Logitech mice. I've been reading up on others having issues with other mice too, such as the Razor, and OCZ mice. I'm going to five the fix that Tinkerhell referred to, and we'll see if that fixes things up for both issues. Quote:

Guys if you find a no repair needed mod for weapons that works please let me know. It's silly how fast they break down.

Re: Fallout 3
The new mouse fix works well here, though one might want to experiment with various values to mimic the old behavior on different systems. For instance I only have to use the line "fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0.1000" to get a good result here.

I began to have a lot of crashes on saving wheter autosaves or manual, that proved to be related to the ACE mod 2.0b. When a new version is out it will be posted at the mod makers website here: MechanicalPirate’s Modding Blog

Re: Fallout 3
You have to go through a subway station to reach it. I don't remember which one, but it might not be the specific you have in the ss there.

Re: Fallout 3
I made a tiny movement speed mod for myself that perhaps someone else might be interested of. It increases running speed with 20%, regardless of whether you hold a weapon in hand or not. I was using some other mod that gave you a 20% boost if you lowered the weapon and 10% otherwise, which became a chore after a while. Note that walking with a drawn weapon uses a different leg animation which leads to quicker footstep sounds while you are still running at the same speed as with the weapon away.
Also walking speed is increased by about 50%, which still feels pretty slow so it's not that noticeable. I experimented with increasing walk speed even more but that made NPC's look too funny while moving about casually. http://www.ghus11.to/mikael.karlsson...s_20_speed.zip As with all .esp mod files, put it in the \fallout 3\data\ folder and check it in the fallout 3 launcher when you start a game. |

Nope. This is a DLC only. We'll have to wait for a new patch to get that fixes... or so we hope.

Re: Fallout 3
I bought the DLC but haven't played it. In fact I haven't even found out how. I found on the internet that there is suppose to be a radio broadcast about it, but i don't see/hear anything about it.
And ever since I've reinstalled the game on my new system. VATS is SOOOO slow. It drops to like 10 FPS. It also takes 3-4 seconds before it will allow me to select a body part to target. Very annoying bug.

Re: Fallout 3
Lowfat,
I believe you gotta go to the Fallout3 Launcher > Data Files and check the expansion and then run Fallout 3. You can also use your mod manager to do this as well. I've heard that if you turn down the detail from Ultra to High (or somewhere in between) it helps with the VATS problem. Good Luck.

Re: Fallout 3
Ya I could turn doing the resolution, but it runs great besides the VAT slow downs.
Not using a mod manager, only mod I have installed is a high res texture mod which didn't require it. I'll take a look in the Data Files menu though. Thanks.

Re: Fallout 3
The latest patch made VATS slower here, especially the delay before I can get to do anything. The notes said some VATS-crash was fixed so maybe that's the price to pay. I'm VATS'ing less and less though.

Re: Fallout 3
Well the DLC wasn't anywhere to be found in my Fallout 3 folder.
I did some research and found this Fallout 3 operation : anchorage problem installing / finding - Games for Windows Live If you have Fallout 3 installed anywhere except the system drive your DLC won't be playable without moving the files yourself to the Fallout 3 directory.
