What I want in a game

Imagine a MMOFPS, set in the HL2 Universe In my mind, and just to be able to have a game and play it over a city or greater and just smash and destroy all kinds of things, a true deformable terrain and a persistant online world. Like a warring factions and NPCs that attack both, almost like 2 factions trying to destroy an NPC controlled alien faction, have them reinforced to give the wax and wane of war, sneak into the enemy's base and try to destroy key parts, but also watching out for enemy sabatours... Oh the joy if only there was a game like that out

Planetside is the closest thing to that.

Anarchy online is "trying" to do that. Hoewever their terrain is pretty solid... and frankly their whole war system sucks. I realize it protects the lower level characters but still... its stupid.

But I don't want character Building, I don't want the RPG feel, I want it to be a FPS that you don't have to worry about is he a higher level then me, I want it to be skills of the person playing, and just have the terrain be dynamic, being able to pick up a few items here and there but nothing carries over from day to day, so once you leave you start out at your base and move up and pick up items on the way, but have it be like Halo with only so many weapons and items you can carry. Start out with a standard assault rifle and handgun or something along those lines, and you could either find better weapons or get one from an armory or something like that

Sounds interesting, an MMOFPS. I think that could be worked out and it would essentially be an all out war, no levels.

I assume you mean something similar counter-strike except it would contain thousands of people?

I'm not thinking of a money system, you can have whatever weapons and equipment you want as long as you don't excede what you should be able to carry, hence the halo reference, maybe something similar to tribes with how you get it, like vehicles and weapons, but a true deformable terrain thats persistant online, though you could have things build new structures. Speciality vehicles only delegated for certain tasks, maybe battle plans that kind of thing, means you need a commander, but I think that would have to be someone who runs it, and you could let the squad level commanders be more freeform, No real defined commands or direct commands, but a general Idea of what to do
