It's a futuristic racing game that reminds me a lot of Slipstream 5000. There are a couple of gameplay videos here and there. I found this preview
Pyroblazer Preview, Screenshots and Performance though I don't know the site at all.

I am tempted to get this (gamersgate probably) since I have been looking for a good futuristic racer for a while now. POD is great, but I can't make it run under Vista plus I think it is about time to get a new one.

I know the game is out for like a day, but has anyone tried it yet?

ok, finished downloading and tried 2 races a couple of laps each, or else I can't go to bed lol.

First the bad things.
The music playing during installation is IMO the most annoying music for installation ever.
It looks like you cannot disable weapons during the campaign mode.
I took a screenshot (just clipboard) but when I tried to paste it all I got was a black thing. Next time I will try FRAPS and there was another good freeware program for screenshots but I can't remember the name now.

Now the good things.
It plays great on my configuration. With lots of things going on at all times and all effects at maximum with AA at 2x (I do that in most games) and AF 8X (same), with motion blur off (I hate it in all games apart perhaps PGR) at 1680x1050. The game has an ingame key for showing fps (F9) and I never noticed it going under 70 once.

The game looks fantastic. I think the first 3D (as in not cars) racer that I have played that at some points made me feel like I am on a rollercoaster ride (good thing).

In the single race mode you can have weapons OFF if you wish.

The game made me grin!

Quick first look = very impressive. I will know more, later today/tonight. I need to get some sleep.

If the game is as good as it feels so far, I would say it is a must for anyone that likes futuristic racing games. IF.

Some screenshots for you. Most of them are in the first person view which I prefer. The game also allows you to have third person view from behind and a bit higher. Plus one which almost lies down on the back of your vehicle.

I set FRAPS to take screenshots with the F1 key to make it easier for me, which in game changes the HUD, so that is why some screenshots show HUd while others don't.

Looking at the screenshots they don't look that great, but in motion they look much better. And I don't mean moving your head while looking at the screenshots.

I play the game on the campaign mode, medium difficulty setting and so far I always finish first, about 3 seconds ahead of the next opponent. I plan to continue playing the campaign on the same difficulty setting and then jump to Hard.

The weakest link of the game are the sound effects. They feel like they were taken from the public domain. Thankfuly they don't ruin the experience.

The game manual says it has multiplayer options, but I haven't tried anything yet to see how and what.

The frame rate while in game, it just doesn't move much from 77 no matter what is going on in the screen. I don't know what that means, if it means anything.

The game is playable with only keyboard or keyboard and mouse. The latter is much better IMO.

I like the game so far. The best of it I think is the actual control. In other racers where you pilot in 3 dimensions, there is always a feeling of what MUST be up and what down in the world and how your vehicle flies through the enviroment. Almost restrained. There is no such thing here and the handling to is surprisingly responsive but not too much so.
Whoever programmed the handling of the vehicles should get a medal.

Hey guys!
I agree it's too bad this game has so small commercial, many people who would love it haven't even heard of it. I think the game is above it's class (29$) by most aspects of game. It's really different from anything I have played, even in its genre, although all compare it with wipeout judging by shots. This 3-dimensional movement gives player whole new experience and variety of racing styles.

And many thanx to BlueMak for such in-depth presentation of game...hope it will continue...Many visitors of board could see some more of game, and even us who played could learn something more
