My problem with the new patch 1.0.7.0 is that I am logged into the social club but game still doesn't start, it gives me the spin disc then nothing.

Win7 Ultimate x64
4 GB Ram
1 TB HDD
5850 - 10.12 Drivers

There is no more Social Club. If you're still getting the Social Club menu screen, select Play Offline. Proceed from there. You'll have an option to sign into Windows Live to get your achievements.

Well I install the latest patch after the install is done and activation.
I still get SC and click on play offline and that and even online and still does nothing logged in or not. For more helpful info I do have the latest GFWL.

Something must have gotten corrupted during the update. I applied the latest patch and played for a while just last night. So, at least from my experience, the game is working.

Is there any hard drive activity after you click on Play Offline? If so, let it work for a few minutes to see if it's doing some back ground configuration.

Okay I re-downloaded the patch for the game and installed it, the game seems to start fine now, so it was a corrupted install/download. Thanks for the help.

One reason I bought this game was for the unlimited activation. At the time this game was released alot of games had limited number of installs and then you had to call the game company for activation reset.

Anyone played GTAIV or the Expansion with a Sandy Bridge 2500/2600? I heard those cpus make GTA IV run like a 2004 game due to the massive cpu power.

I'm running it on a Q8300 and a 5770 and even at pretty high settings it runs really smooth until you bump up the view distance What i find hilarious is, It runs better than Black Ops which requires like half the specification

I've played some GTA IV - BoGt with the i5 overclocked and it's a huge improvement in framerate and allowing you to max out the game settings. I tried using 2X and 4X MLAA but that combined with the increased texture memory easy brought the 1gb of memory on each of my 5970 GPU's to their knees. You need at least 1.5gb memory per GPU to really enjoy this game in all its glory. GTA IV lacks the new texture settings so it should easily run at max settings with MLAA.

I'm probably about 75% through GTA IV and completed Lost and the Damned so there's still lots to get out of these games.
