MS Flight Simulator 2004 : A Century of Flight...your thoughts?
Well after installing MS Flight simulator 2002 I went to the MS page to see if any new patches were out and to my surprise I found this game which I never even new was in development.
I'm quite a fan of the 2002 version and enjoy flying almost any plane just for the sheer pleasure. Now that I've seen some of the screens for the 2004 version I better start saving up. It looks like one of the major upgrades is the weather in this game. You can have it automatically download current weather from the internet every 15 minutes in order to have the most realistic weather in your area. The game is estamated to be $54.95 and will hopefully be out sometime this summer. What are your thoughts on the MS Flight Simulators? Do you think you'll give this one a purchase? Heres a link to it: http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/

if you enjoy flying, total emmersion isn't a problem, but I often fly other sims...IL2 Sturmovik and Forgotten Battles as well and I enjoy them more...even when I got shot down all the time, the visuals are stunning, especially in opengl...I think it has better quality than Directx but then I have an old ATI card and it renders the lanscapses and cockpit visuals in such a fashion that I think it is superior to MS flight simulator...but hey, you can hook up a couple of monitors and get some stunning visuals...

The new clouds and Weather effects are excellent. The Classic aircraft are fun to fly at least at first. ATI cards have problems, particularly the 9700 and 9800's. I think that most people are hoping that the CAT3.7s will resolve or at least improve this issue.
Takes a fair computer to get the most out of it. I'd give it a 7.5/10 with FS2002 getting an 8/10 as it stands right now.
