Just bought Mirror's Edge

Hello. I just bought Mirror's Edge on Steam. I can't wait to play it. The Phys X is going to be so good. Let's share. What do you guys think?

A lot of people have had some trouble with physx, myself included.

I have a EVGA 8800 GTS SSC but for some reason when I enable physx in game it tells me my card is not supported. When I ignore that and run it anyway my FPS will drop to like 10 or below on levels that make use of it.

specifically the level after you meet faith's sister for the first time.

There seems to be quite a few other people having the same issues.
The game works fine though if you disable physx. Just though I'd let you know about it before you got it.

EDIT: It's definitly a fun game though without it.

Got this game on the PS3, might get it on PC just to see what this PhysX fuss is about with it, heard so much, so im very interested to see what it has to offer over the Console version. Brilliantly fun and addictive game, within about 2 weeks id completed it 4 or 5 times, and im about half way through on hard, but i lent it to friend in favour of LittleBigPlanet, this has made me want it back ^^

So am I but with the current build I am playing with I only have 2G of RAM but it is much faster than my DDR2. And since I can run the game under XP on my secondary HD I can run my 9600gt for dedicated PhysX with my HD4870 ... experimenting with the cards this weekend

It sounds to me that your card may be a rare one that may not support PhysX at all? Is it in the manual or was it on the box that it said that it did?

I just picked up ME this morning...As im only just past the point where pope were found dead in his office and just escaped the oncoming gaurds..i can say much..

Appart from this looks as though it's going to be one of the most fun games i have played for sometime.

I am happy with it as a "game" so far PhysX aside. It is smooth even on the AMD system with the 9600gt everything set high.

It is the movements and options for me very fluent

Hated Mirror's Edge, Parkour without the exercise was all it was, voted least memorable by me.

Yeah might be. I can remember using windows 3.1 and I had issues with everything. I used to punch the screen it got so bad. Can't do that with LCD's. Then everything was alright until XP came out. I was just getting ME to run how I wanted it to and installed XP then I had constant driver issues with my broadband modem and network card. Pain! It never stopped even after I bought a new modem and even then when I got it smoothly running I'd get driver issues or screen failures. For me Old hardware on XP was a flop.

I bought it a few months ago. Still have not beat it. There isn't a game on the planet that makes me as mad as Mirror's Edge. I'd have to try something like 10-15 times sometime to get it right. And screen shakes like a mad man. I didn't think it was possible to get motion sickness when not moving, but with ME it sure is (I use a 32" TV for a display so it likely is the cause, but I don't have issues with any other games.).

IMO ME is the worst game I have likely ever purchased.

However PhysX looks great.

I am running it fine here on a 19 inch LCD and my trusty 9600GT

Everything is fluent and so far I love the gameplay so sometimes we get different results on these things

I run two PC's so if I have probs with one I go to the other to check it all out. That way I can always smooth out any rough edges.

So far that I've played it, I can't get used to the fight scenes too well. I'll have to give it some more practice now that my system's up again.

It's really good. Graphics are really good. The characters are cool. It plays really well.
