Midnight Club L.A. (360)

I didn't buy the game when it was released due to the negative reviews, or at least parts of them.
Most of them complain about huge difficulty and hard AI and being very common to crash...

I decided it to give it a go anyway and got it yesterday. (sale)
I am only a couple of hours in the game, so bare that in mind.
The game is automaticaly patched to whatever version is the most recent one.
I find the difficulty just right. The AI cars will occasionaly crash, just not often. They will try to finish first and they will not try to ram you the first second they are near you. In fact the AI plays very well, almost like a human in a way it drives.
I find the traffic just right too. There are plenty of cars to not be suspicious of lack of enough cars, but you also don't see traffic jams. Plenty of room to drive through them.
I crashed a few times and ALL of them was when I wasn't paying enough attention on the road. Every single time it was my fault and I never felt like it was something else. When I pay enough attention and am focused on it, it is a great fun to race through the traffic. Also, if you drive careful and fast, even if you crash once or twice, you can make it back on time to even win the race if you are good enough. Now, if you crash during the last half mile of the race then..that is your fault and only.

There is police in the streets, shown with blue arrows/icons on the mini map. They will go after you if you break the law. That includes but not limited to (from my own experience) over speeding (you can always have the speed limit shown to you on the right side of the screen), stopping in a bad place (middle of crossroad), crashing, driving through stores, etc, you get the picture. Now, you can stop as soon as they make a signal to, then you have a chance to either pay the ticket or just try to leave them behind (while they are on foot approaching your vehicle...super cool).
You can customise your vehicle, inside and out.

The game world is big enough and very detailed. The graphics are something to be seen, very very good.
The game has an in cockpit view!!!!

For the last part I left the best. The actual driving. It is not Forza 2, but it is not Flatout either. It is more sim like than NFSMW, and close to PGR series. It is very very fun to drive.

I don't know about the PS3 version, but the Xbox 360 version is a must have IMO. The game is like a much better version of the NFS series. I don't know if the future NFS Shift will reach this quality, but I hope so. This is how games like this should be done.

Hmm, 1 mil, that is a long way out for me. How do you manage to lose the cops? Perhaps I need a faster car...I still have the 1983 Golf. I love how it handles.

The packs for the game don't do it enough for me. I mean the one with the extra races I might get, but the cars...not. Too few cars and not any I like. The game should have more european cars IMO.

I want to add one more thing. This game is easily one of the most beautiful games ever released. If not the most beautiful. It's like the Blade Runner of games.

I bought the premium pack that includes the map. I had 1080 points for like 6 months so I said, what the hell. I wish they release some Porsche or modern Ferrari. The muscle cars are super fun to drive, but not so much when you are trying to avoid traffic.

Re: Midnight Club L.A. (360)

Bikes are very good, but, I just don't feel easy riding them, in real life or virtual. I feel like if I am at high speed and I hit something, it is the helmet wearing me for protection than the other way around.

So far in the game I have much better results with "tuner" cars than any other type. The muscle cars are exciting, but can't make turn to save their lives.
