I'm buying an XBOX 360

Hey guys! I've decided to invest in an XBOX 360. Since my last console was a PS2 this is all fairly new to me. What are the best games to get for the 360??

I played mass effect and found it quite fun for a while,But mind you im not a RPG fan so its very rare id pick up a game within this genre..

Final fantasy was quite boring to be honest,Mind im going back quite some time (back in the days of the ps1)

As from what i have seen you must be a FF fan.. am i correct RE III - Frankie ? just curious.

I've heard that Gears of War was a really good game. Yes RPG flies. The games I'd probably want to look at though would be more two player orientated.

My first piece of advice: buy at least a 360 Pro (the one with the 60GB hard drive), and stay away from the 360 Arcade units. Having the hard drive makes a big difference.. especially in overall cost and functionality. Also, if you intend to hook the system up to a router wirelessly then look online for the 360 Wireless Adapter, such as on places like Craigslist or Ebay, instead of buying it retail (unless you can get a good deal on it). You'll find the adapters a bit cheaper on online sites.

Seriously though. So I don't have to go searching online like ebay or something, what Are cool games?? I've played Jericho on PC. Would be too hard on the console. I like action, but that's out of control. What about NBA 2K9 that sounds cool right?? Or the sims 2 or 3 that would rock. idk give some ideas??

seriously, try some FPS or even TPS games you haven't already tried on PC. getting used to the joystick isn't that hard really.

oh, and one game that i haven't seen be mentioned yet that you can try on the 360 that is console exclusive only, is Star Wars: Force Unleashed .

that's a really good action/adventure third person type game. the only thing that sucks about it is that it's fairly short. i beat the game in about 20hrs. of game play time.

nice run! i have the force unleased on DS and it's an interesting game yes. i like how you can play as the darkside. that's cool. Darth Vadar man and the sith master, they're so cool!

Hi, and welcome to GamingHeaven. I, myself, have owned a 360 for some time now and I enjoy gaming on that machine just as much as my pc (I'm an equal opportunity time waster). If you're into action type games I'd suggest Ninja Gaiden II, though the difficulty does put some people off. Another good one would be Resident Evil 5; if you've played any of the older ones, forget everything you know about how they work. This one was way more action-horror than survival-horror, but still a great game. But if you are looking for something closer to the old-school RE games, give Dead Space a try. Nice little gem, that one. There's also a few driving/racing games I own that I rather like. Forza 2 (which can usually be found in the $20 range) and Burnout Paradise (also a bargain as I picked that one up for $18 used). And don't forget that there are several very good games coming out this month, such as Madden 2010, IL-2 Sturmovik (a WW-II based flying game, I was impressed by the demo), and of course there's Batman - Arkham Asylum. They just released a demo of that game and it looks like it has been well worth the wait. Oh, and Devil May Cry 4 is another oldie but goodie; most likely pretty cheap new or used. Dark Void looks interesting. Wolfenstein should be good. I like Darksider's a little bit, but they don't really explain the story!?!? Like why is it his fault (Wars) about the apocalypse in the first place?? It doesn't make sense! I'll get Grid for it. and a few sidescrollers. Mabye Half Life 2 if I can find a copy. Gotta have Halo (maybe). I guess the rest would be Call of Duty, Far Cry 2, Crysis, Prey and also Blacksite.

Personally, I just bought a 360Elite, and GOD I love this console! It's so much more fun than PC, especially with 2 player CO-OP games!
After long searching I found THIS site wich gathers all games currently known to 360 with the mark of Split -screen and Local Co-Op, which are the ones you need to look for.
From my experience, you can go for Gears of War 1&2 for a massive blood bath wich is EXTREMELY fun! Halo3 can do the job though it's not as intense.
Also, give a try to Halo wars, being very fun as a strategy game. I never belived I could play strategy games on XBOX, but I admit it is extremely fun

Two more game I like: Ghost Recon advanced warfighter 2, Rainbow six Vegas 2, Fuel, HAWX and most important of all: Ninja Gaiden 2!
Actually, I have't played this yet, but it looks SO fun for a 2 player game! :P

what is to replace the 60GB HDD for the pro then? the pro is an overall great bargain for most people who can't afford an elite.

Doesn't make much sense, as the 60GB pro version is fairly new. You sure you don't mean the 20GB? That was the original size of the pro (and sadly what I currently have). Either way I hope it gets them to lower the price of the stand-alone hdds.

i'd like to buy a used 20GB HDD and crack it open, then use an HDD copying program, like Norton ghost or Acronis, to copy that data on to the new HDD and slap the new HDD inside the 360 HDD thing.

would that be possible and have a new, much larger HDD (like 250GB or w/e) for a 360.

Well, you ARE correct, only I have my XBOX connected directly to my PC, and them both connected to the TV via HDMI, so, I have the standard HDD of my PC for everything I need. I don't use media or movies on the 360, I have the PC for that...

In matter of games and specific 360 content, I'm pretty sure that it's enough, tough I only have mine for about a month :-\

The 120GB is enough for my needs. About 1/4 of it is in demos, a few GB on Arcade and videos and most of it I use for installing the games. The reduction of noise is well worth it.

I like Tekken 6. I think I'd get good at that. I had a virtua fighing game on my PSP and I won 3 out 3 fights on that. I was very good at Mortal Kombat 3 when it was in the arcade so I'll definitely have a try. Gotta find some sidescrollers though. I don't have any on my PC, but loved them on the PS. Abe's Odyssey and Crash Bandicoot were fairly easy. Though they're quite old now the games I'd get now would be way better than them!@ I'll have to hunt down a copy of Bioshock for XBOX360. I' liked that on the PC and found it quite satisfying to kill those menaces Would be even better to cut them down on 40" LCD screen. Back to Tekken 6. I'll be out playing everyone on that now that I think about it. When I get obsessed with fighting games my rage goes through the console and into the screen which makes my character do some really insane stuff. It's easy to confuse AI that way.
