I agree with comp_ali that your system specs seem fine...I'm using the same GTX 260 card as you and the game runs fine...are you saying that the frame rates drop after disabling Physx?...normally the opposite happens...have you tried lowering some of the advanced graphics options like AA and Vsync etc?...are you using the latest DirectX update?...are you overclocking anything?...if so disable it temporarily and see

P.S. thanks for the rep...hopefully you can gets things running soon as the game really is amazing...I'm taking my time exploring so I'm still only at 22% completion after many hours of gameplay

Have you tried redownloading the game and installing it again , maybe there is a problem with installation.

Nothing is overclocked.. I never overclock my systems..

The Frame rate does drop after disabling Physx...

i posted the Latest DX (Augast 09) in the news archive,So it were natural to D/L and update.

Yes i have lowered the graphic options a little... This has made no difference..

I tried this game before i signed into Windows Live and updated to V1.1.

since I've read about other people having this same issue I'm sure that the developers are aware of the problem and hopefully will release a patch for the game soon

don't give up on the game yet

Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews

I don't know if anyone else had this problem with Batman but for some odd reason it kept running in standard 2D clock mode for me and I eventually had to force 3D clocks in Rivatuner to get the game to play properly.

The clocks show on my G15 screen but you could also see them in hardware monitoring programs such as EVGA's Precision tool or Rivatuner. It's pretty obvious though, the Batman benchmark was under 20frames average for me until I forced it to use 3D clocks. Probably just a bug in the drivers I'm using (191.00) but I didn't notice this problem in other games so might be worth mentioning.

One thing I didn't like about this game is how you spend half the time in detective mode.

I have no intention to give up on this yet,As i was very impressed with the demo..

What i have done so far,I have re-downloaded the digital content from the source i bought the game from..Even sacrificed another download (Maximum of 6 without the need to call customer support)

Removed the other install and reinstalled from the new download.. But this time i have singed into live but i have not updated BAA to the 1.1 update..

Everything is now running smooth and i have passed the point where it crashed before..

So for now I'm not sure if its a conflict on my system that interferes with the 1.1 patch..

Nice to hear everything is ok now. You can save the download to a DVD dual layer if you don't want to sacrifice another download ticket , it is silly however to limit no of downloads when you will use the same license.

I'm sure everything is running as it should for me...but I'm curious where to find the 2D clock info in EVGA Precision...I use that program to control the fan speeds on my GTX260...are you referring to Core or Shader Clock?...where exactly can I look at the 2D/3D Clock settings when using EVGA Precision?

the patch is really not important BUT it does enable all the PhysX capabilities of the game (for Nvidia users)...it's really nothing too major but it does add to the look of the game...the way smoke fills the room, the way Batman's suit tears and rips, the way the flags fly and rip if you throw a Batarang at them, the floor tiles break etc

by the way are you using version 3.00.0089.00 of Games for Windows- Live?...I remember having an issue with Fallout 3 (another GFWL game) where after I patched to version 1.7 the game would not load...I had to manually install the latest version of GFWL and then everything worked fine...apparently the version that came with the game was not compatible with the new patch

When you are in 2D mode, look at the clocks. That's them. They change when you load a game. In Rivatuner you can customize the clocks for each mode but Precision just does it for 3D mode (Precision is a less featured version of Rivatuner).

go into your Games for Windows- Live folder and click the 'Client' folder and highlight GFWLive and it should tell you the version number you currently have installed

here is the manual download link for the latest version (3.00.0089.00 )...

I'm still confused about this...when I'm not gaming my Core Clock= 666, Shader Clock= 1403 and Memory Clock= 1150...those are my 2D clock settings correct?...I just loaded Arkham Asylum and checked my Clocks and they remain the same...when I'm gaming should my 3D Clocks be higher?...is my card not downclocking/upclocking correctly?

Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews

I've played the demo a couple of times and I can say Eidos has done a good job this time.

The gameplay is interesting and there is a many combos .you can do everything batman does like hanging or gliding. The interesting thing also is the rich environment, there are many things you can interact with or use it as a cover.

The sounds are done professionally and the voice acting is awesome, you would hear a lot of funny dialogues through the game either between your enemies or from your rivals like the joker.

The graphics are top notch and everything is detailed especially characters faces and costumes and the demo ran fluid on my system (C2D 2.2 Ghz , 2 GB Ram , ATi 4670HD )(1280x1024 – high details-vsync on).

The keyboard and mouse controls are just right and I had no issues with them.

This game deserves high 9s/10 and is by far the game of the year IMO.

the demo is not an accurate representation of the full game in my opinion...there is so much more to the game and the demo only touches on a few key areas...if you liked the demo you will love the game

the keyboard/mouse work fine on the PC...I'm getting high scores on the Challenge Maps and have chained together some incredible combos (56X being my max so far)

OMG, I thought I was a badass hitting 20x combo one time.

I didn't even know it went that high.

I don't know if their is any limit as some of the scores I've seen on the Challenge Map Leaderboard are ridiculously high...36,000,000 etc...either they are cheating or they are hitting some crazy combo chains

I just finished the game...still have around 40 Riddles to find, a bunch of those Arkham relics and 5 Challenge Maps to unlock...this game was truly amazing and has great replay value

I played on Normal difficulty level and found the game rather easy except for the last few Boss fights which were definitely more challenging...Poison Ivy and Titan Joker were not easy...one thing I found annoying was that the last few fights are in a different 3rd person view so it makes the fights a bit more difficult

I want a sequel ...by the way there is another quick scene after you watch the final credits that could be a setup for a sequel

Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews

I have also just finished BAA at someting around 67% complete.... This is one very awesome game,And the re-playability is very high.

Now i have to go through this again but a little more slower...To try to get even more riddles etc..

BTW the highest combo i got were 25...im sure it's possible to go a little higher.

went back and found all the missing riddles (I needed some help with the last 4 so I looked at a walkthrough guide)...I'm at 93% completion...I finished everything in the game but I don't think I'll be able to get to 100% because you need to finish all those Challenge Maps to get to 100% and some of those Maps are freakin hard to complete...you need to complete 3 separate missions within each map as well...the 'Extreme' Challenge Maps are especially difficult...I completed most of them but there are 2-3 Challenge Maps that are very hard

anyone get 100% completion?

What happens when you finish all the Riddler stuff? Does he appear?

he does not appear but Batman traces his location and after you solve the final riddle you hear the police arriving at the Riddler's location, breaking down his door and arresting him

also after finishing the game you should also watch the final credits as after they end there is another quick scene which sets up a potential sequel
