Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews
WOW . It got 91 on Metacritics Batman: Arkham Asylum (xbox360) reviews at Metacritic.com
Look at all those review sites. Although I don't like Batman games this one seems t be different. I'll wait to see it landed on PC.

Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews
Should be good, from what I can tell it lacks the hype that Assassin Creed had and it plays quite similar to this. The demo really didn't do much for me but then again most of the things I read in the reviews weren't in the demo so I won't judge it solely on that basis.

Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews
I played through the demo and was impressed. It definately has the 'console' feel to it but despite that I liked it. Great graphics and presentation. I think I will be getting this. This will be the second game I buy this year.
Just a shame PC gamers have to wait another month to get it. |

It doesn't really matter the delay , the real shame is a publishing a poor port after all.

Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews
This game's pretty epic, The thing that irritates me though, it's every game, if you buy it for one platform you should get a license for the pc too.

Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews
best version is the PS3 version... finally! the PC demo did look good, but the ps3 version can get by awesome. finally we get a proper port. alot of these smaller studios know wtf they are doing. Fallout was a joke on the PS3. Very impressive game overall, I have little things to say bad about it, im not a big Batman fan, but watched most of the older movies and both of the Nolan films. It mixes in the good ol' 90s cartoon also, so its an amazing mixture. Environments are crazy detailed!
To top it off, I got it for $40, these guys must be smoking crack before making profits. They just made a good contender for GOTY. edit - its getting better and better!

![]() For the record, I agree with the others here -- seriously good game. Personally, I'm happy that it's not based on the present movie franchise, and that it's really an extension of the comic books. The characters are cool, the voice acting is great (and there's a ton of voicework), and the level design ... especially some of the Scarecrow stuff ... is stunning.

Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews
I gotta disagree with you here. They are both identical, however the PS3 version is "softer" looking, while the 360 is sharper, more colorful, and cleaner (same comparison as with GTA IV). It's personal preference when it comes to picking which one looks better. Some people like the softer look, but for me, I like it sharp and clean. I've also noticed that thanks to the 360s ability to download the game to the drive (compared to the minimal 1.2GB install of the PS3 version) it smooths out playback of cinematics somewhat. I've noticed that on the PS3 the cut-scenes will not play smoothly sometimes... that they sort of pause or skip (the opening cinematic is a perfect example). The same thing happens on the 360 version when streamed from the DVD, but as I said, once you dump the game to the drive the cinematics are smooth.

Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews
PRESS RELEASE:
28th August 2009 London, UK - Today the highly anticipated Batman: Arkham Asylum™ game has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the ‘Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever’. Batman: Arkham Asylum, out today in the United Kingdom, has been given top scores across the board from National newspapers and specialist game reviewers. The game has broken the Guinness World Record in this category by achieving the highest average score of 91.67 from reviews around the world.* Developed by Rocksteady Studios and based on DC Comics’ Batman license, Batman: Arkham Asylum offers players diverse gameplay that pushes the envelope for action, adventure and superhero games and exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure taking them to the depths of Arkham Asylum. Gaz Deaves from Guinness World Records states, “We are so pleased to be awarding Batman: Arkham Asylum a Guinness World Record. It is a fantastic new game and due to the reaction of gaming experts we believe it has a well deserved place in the Guinness World Records book.” In Batman: Arkham Asylum, BATMAN finds himself trapped inside the confines of Gotham’s psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane, ARKHAM ASYLUM. THE JOKER has set a trap for the DARK KNIGHT and has conspired with the deranged inmates to eliminate BATMAN once and for all. Adding to the authenticity of the game are veteran animated Batman voice talents Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy, who reprise their roles as The Joker and Batman respectively. Batman: Arkham Asylum features an original story by Paul Dini, Batman writer and five-time Emmy Award winner whose credits include Lost and Batman: The Animated Series. Gamers will move in the shadows, instill fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City's most notorious villains, including HARLEY QUINN, BANE, KILLER CROC, POISON IVY and SCARECROW, who have taken over the asylum. Batman: Arkham Asylum is rated “BBFC 15” and available for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 Computer Entertainment System for the suggested retail price of £49.99. It will also be available for Games for Windows® LIVE at retail outlets for the suggested retail price of £34.99 on September 18, 2009. For more information, please visit Batman .. Re: Batman Arkham Asylum getting positive reviews
That record should be wiped from the books to offset the complete pile of crap that was Superman N64. DC comics owes us one for letting that happen!
If only the designers of Arkham Asylum would make a Spider-man game that would be badass.
