East India Company

D2D had it on sale for £5, so I bought it.
Didn't have time to play it (started a new Mass Effect game ) but I will start later today/tonight and let you know my experience with the game. When I was younger these types of games were among my favourite, but more recent games like Patrician etc, just didn't do it for me.

Anyone want to share his/her experience with the game, please do.

Re: East India Company

I'd like to give it a try some day. When I was playing Patrician some years ago I had a lot of fun at first but I gave up when I had to micromanage every ships trading to make any real profit. I would need something a little more laid back than that. East India Company seems to have many other aspects like diplomacy and sea warfare though. Just found the demo that I'll download for later.

Re: East India Company

Looks like an interesting game, but I going to avoid genre for a while. I still irked over CA's destruction of Empire Total War.

Re: East India Company

This is nothing like Total War. Nothing. This is more like a business "sim". Vaguely under the term of strategy game, but then again so is SimCity. The game isn't about fighting, it is about making money.

Re: East India Company

Hmm, I will have to look it up then. I thought it was another Total War type game.

Re: East India Company

Here are some similar games.
First my favourite of the type,
Merchant Colony
Merchant Colony - Screenshots - MobyGames
Mind you in Merchant Colony you could do more things lol, like found colonies, but nvm.

Then other games like, the patrician, port royale, etc.
