Well I went on tonight to the EA Store to order a game for my brother under my own account (which he uses to play some games).

I ordered Command and Conquer: Kanes Wrath for him and when I went to buy it, it said "Thank you for your order. Your order is being processed and you will be notified of the result shortly."

The problem is the browser closed really quickly so I wasn't sure if I had did something wrong or not and I couldn't track it in my account and no email arrived. Anyhow, I tried it again and I got the same message but this time the browser window didn't close.

So I went into the EA support and opened up a ticket, which was still unresolved, so I thought I would try their live chat to get a faster response.

Here is the chat I had with one of their support representatives, I have removed some technical data from the chat to protect the account.

This happened over a period of 30 minutes or so....

I absolutely hate having to deal with customer service representatives as they are invariably dumber than petrified wood. Often I wonder if they are real people or just some kind of bot.

The only time I have used the live chat thing is on eBay and the guy on the other end seemed to take 10 minutes to type a simple sentemce. I asked him why it was taking so long for him to respond.

I avoid dealing with a human whenever possible.

both codes arrived, so now it should be a relatively simple task of getting one of them refunded.

For the experience you have, you should have gone there (chat) with only one goal, to cancel both? orders. You should have known that anything more complicated is bound to cause havoc among EA. Shame on you!

My only experience with "live" customer service was with mcafee because I was fed up with constantly having to "fix" the protection status everywhere few minutes. I wasn't sure if I could uninstall it then reinstall under the same serial code. I ended up just letting him take remote control over my computer because it was too hard to get him to understand.

It reminds me a bit of the old Atari ST font, only better.

I changed my notepad to use HelveticaNeue LT 65 Medium.
The only Helvetica I have installed.

Using courier new for so long, it's a nice change.

Well, since this has been brought back from the dead, I tried today to play NFS Carbon on my PC. I installed and played the game, purchased through one of the previous EA online shops (pre Origin). For some reason today I get a pop up before the game starts that I need to log in to EA servers... I never even installed Origin. Regardless, I decide to sing in, but then I get the message that the game can't connect to the server, and...the game never actually loads....
I wonder if the password is wrong for some reason, so I go ahead and sign in to EA through NFS HP online shite, and it signs in just fine.

Screw you EA. You and your DRM and your online shops. From now on if I need to buy a PC EA game I will not pay for it. Fuck them.

BTW, the last sentence was a joke. For those who know me, I wouldn't buy anything from Origin either way. No more EA PC games for me. (same as with Ubisoft for over a year now)
