According to Wedbush Securities,4 to 5 millions copies of Modern Warfare 2 were purchased on "day one" in the world.
this blockbuster deserves to be on the list.

I agree with the idea of a user rating system instead of the traditional voting.
It will be nice if we can vote with ratings more than one game in a category.
It might be hard to have something like that, but i know you will do your best and this year

My only complain was that there were only a few games in each category.

Assassin's Creed 2!

That's a really good game. Just played 9 hours in 3 days :')!

Certainly one of the best games this year.

Nah ,me myself I wouldn't vote for AC 2 as they delayed the PC release

. I have feeling Uncharted 2 will be GOTY or at least No. 2 though.

I am going to put out a vote for Assassin's Creed II as well, it's hard to be a good sequel, and It did improve in most ways upon the original. I am only disappointed it's console only until 2010

Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box (PC)
East India Company (PC)
WW2:Time of Wrath (PC)

Two more potential that I can't really ask to be added since I haven't played them yet, but from what I have read (a lot) could be GOTY material (at least in their field)
Armada 2526 (PC) (turn based 4X in space)
Smugglers IV Doomsday (PC) (strategy/sim/rpg in space with cards)
Officers - The Matrix Edition (PC) (pausable real time strategy)

Guilty as charged...not here but on other forums. I like to try and contribute when I can and with life in the real world being what it is I can really only be active here and on another forum (which doesn't offer contests so I'm not -always- in it for the swag).

Well, you can add street figher IV to the fighter genre, and Brutal Legend for Xbox 360 games.

Halo 3 ODST, and Halo wars (i think that was this year) lmao

The new super mario brothers!!!!

sims 3, for sims, majesty 2

And empire total war (because it was released in 2009

you know, It's actually beena pretty good year for PC gaming, as well as consoles, some good titles.

Sorry if my post was unorganized i was thinking back at some of the games i purchased.

RPG: Dragon Age (PC). Although not my kind of RPG, being too linear and dungeon crawl based it's still the best for 2009.
