Assassin's Creed Ending - Did I Miss Something?!
I'm catching up on games I've missed since 9800Pro stopped being "the card" and I just finished Assassin's Creed. At least I think I did.
I saw the writing on the floor in the test room and on the wall in Desmond's room, I set through the credits, looked at the walls and the floors once more, went through the e-mails once again (there may have been a new one on Vidic's computer, but others, including the one on the PC in the conference room, were old), read the message in the animus but the game just wouldn't finish so finally gave up. Is that really it? Does this epic and cinematic piece really end so unceremoniously that the player needs to press Esc and answer yes to "Are you sure that you want to quit? All unsaved progress will be lost." in order to finish it?!

been well over a year since I beat it, but I remember being slightly bewildered at the time myself. I think it 'ended' however and I didn't need to quit the game out like you said.

Yes Ivan it did end, they are searching for the animus, however, That is why Assassin's creed II was released.
![]() They're making it a trilogy, from what I see. |

Re: Assassin's Creed Ending - Did I Miss Something?!
Thanks, there's some interesting stuff there.
From all I found written and on YouTube, the credits are the end, which makes sense. The thing that confused me was that when the credits, which start rather abruptly when you look at the wall in Desmond's room, are finished, you're back where you were before them, practically in-game (and you need to press Esc to quit). Basically, the lab serves the purpose of the game menu, which is a neat idea (the Animus gives the ability to load, and replay, any previous memory/level, which feels natural given the purpose of the device), but it didn't work out that well with the game ending in my opinion as, when it's all over and the player is taken back to the "menu" after the credits, he's still in a location inside the game with nothing to do. EDIT (Seraphic posted while I was typing): Thanks for the reply. I know about the sequel, but I wish they made some sort of a pause after the credits or returned me to the Load Profile menu or allowed Desmond to go to sleep or anything other than leave us at Abstergo labs (in other words, controlling the player in a game location) to press Esc and answer "Yes" to "Are you sure you want to exit? Any unsaved progress will b lost.", that's a really crappy way to finish a game even if they did roll out the credits before that.

Assassin's Creed II first hour of game play will explain a lot more, it's console only until March 2010 (which seriously pissed me off)

Re: Assassin's Creed Ending - Did I Miss Something?!
I understand how you feel. I've just finished the game and I'm tingling to get my hands on the sequel; you on the other hand have probably been waiting for a little while longer and your itching has probably changed into something else. I hope they'll give the PC version a bit of extra polish.
I also hope that they enriched the game formula because if AC2 is just 9 more of the same missions...
