It's not like he has to have sex with another man, be it in real life or in the game. You take certain steps to do this and it is 100% up to you if you do it or not. But I guess free will is a bit much for some (not you Mig).

ok, just I want to clarify something. Even if I called someone gay, I wouldn't mean it as an insult. I would have a specific logic behind it. I don't consider gay people as something bad or shameful etc. Which is partly why I am getting annoyed by homophobic comments.

Actually, there was a huge fuss about San Andreas as far as I remember.

We tend to know on which side of right and wrong drugs and violence sit. Things that society is divided upon are the ones that cause a disturbance and that's what we have here.

Sexual instinct has appeared as part of the mechanism of reproduction (which serves to preserve existence of a species). Arguably, in homosexual specimens, that biological mechanism is broken. If a person believes that our creation and design are parts of some plan, and the modern society protects people's right to believe such things, it shouldn't be strange that such a person might find displaying what seems like a deviation from the plan as the most normal of things disagreeable.

There were other games (there was even a possibility of gay marriage in Fallout 2, if I'm not mistaking?), but this is probably the first time it was done so graphically in a mainstream game. Come to think of it, I don't remember too many explicit sex scenes or too much casual sex from any game that I've played.

No really the game is filled with intricate quality dialogue and NPC-party member interaction surpassing all that's evern been seen in the genre. The 18+ rating is mostly for aspects like the violence and potion making too. It's like going to a movie and be glad to see it's not been disneyfied just to get the younger audience´ money.

Yeah, but it was 2 women.. err.. 1 woman and 1 alien that we believe to be female. This is 2 males, one of which is an elf (the term "fairy" really does seem appropriate right now for some reason).

Know what I think? I think people are upset because it makes them reconsider Aragorns relationship with Legolas. Honestly, no hetero elf can be that in touch with their feelings.

I remember a time when the term homosexual was a no-go. Now look at the state of the world. They are in the military, in the fire department, talk show hosts, there are sit coms about them not to mention the number of flamboyant fellas on just about any home decor/interior design show. Now we have them (in a strictly fictitious and polygonal manner) in video games.

Good on EA/Bio Ware. While I don't expect the majority of people to approve of this and I am wary of their reasons for putting it in the game it can only help open people's eyes and hopefully garner acceptance.
