Playstation 3 vs XBox 360 vs wii

Wii has the only gaming console Vitality Sensor!

Actually, should probably ask what his friends play. Some kids like to have the same consoles, to share games, etc. What I mean is there's the social aspect of it to consider.

I chose PS3 even though I believe the 360 has a far superior library of games (though also tons of crappy bargain bin titles) because it is finally affordable, more reliable, comes with a top notch blu-ray player ($150 value at least), built in wireless, and runs games at about the same level of performance as the 360. While the 360 has some big exclusives I'm not crazy about the Halo franchise (I think it's overrated shit tbh) and the MGS, God of War and Uncharted series has to eclipse Halo and Gears for me.

I know that Wii has good non violence games (Metroid, Zelda, Mario). But the PS3 has those kind of games too (Ratchet & Clank, Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo, Motorstorm) and you have the multiplatform games that are non violence (Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Racing & Sports Games). So there would be plenty of games to choose from.

Imho I think you should get him a PS3. Your brother won't be 10 forever, so at the age of 12-14 he will be bored. Also you get the advantage of the blu-ray player and better graphics. And in the next year, some good games will arrive in the PS3 (Final Fantasy XIII and XIV, Gran Turismo 5, Mod Nation Racers).

Nice to see you got him the PS3. I really think it's a better value in terms of hardware. The games weren't that good at the beginning, but it's definitely picking up now.
