Wink Battlefield Bad Company 2 [PC BETA] Opinions

If you are one of those who recently had a chance to get a BETA key, Tell us your opinions on the game.

I pre-odered it from Steam, and Im very happy I did it. Its a great game overall. Only thing was the "BIG SERVER CRASH" yesturday at ~6pm est. Other than that, I like the game, it looks good and plays very well. Im a Battlefield Series Veteran, I played everyone of them on the PC [I wasnt a console game at the time, so BFBC1 is the only one I didnt play]

The game is beautiful but really demanding in PC Specs. With the PC I got, everything on High, I get ~30fps.. So I only use the Medium quality because I need to play witht the smoothest spec to assure me a good gameplay.

Overall ~ Great game and I cant wait to get the Single Player. Since they did ~50% on each side - 50% Single and 50% Multi, I hope its gonna be Epic lol

Is the single player game like the multi only with bots, or is it a proper single player campaign?

Its a Singleplayer Campaign. Story mode like the call of duty serie.

Mmm, if it is also of good length, we have a winner (for my taste).

From what Ive heard, they said ~10-12 hours... but I really doubt a FPS campaign would last that long. But, Fingers crossed.

You obviously haven't played games like Far Cry 2.
Deus Ex had a long campaign, don't remember how long though.
There were many FPS games in the past with long campaigns. Short campaigns is a new thing, not the normal.

Mwa, quite some lag imo.

And yes, I have a decent internet connection.

I played BC1 too, and I like that kind of shooting. Blowing up things was also nicer with that game...

That's a surprise if your system is not enough to play maxed! How can they run this on a puny console then?

Its all about resolution I think. I play on 1920*1200... A 720p resolution is 13xx*768.. Lower resolution = Better FPS. On 1650*1080 I play on High without a problem, but I like 1920*1200 better lol.

Just gone through 6hrs non stop..... lol. I like the game.

Just got this... had a little play and loving it

Glad I bought the 5770... I would not be enjoying it on my 8800gt heh

Need to get a second 5770 to turn on HBAO at 1920x1080 though and still get a playable frame rate... 35-40fps average isn't too bad with it on... but i like the extra responsiveness you get from 60fps

Earlier I played the demo of the first game on the PS3. So much fun! So much better than Killzone 2 which is supposed to be among the best FPS on the PS3.

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 [PC BETA] Opinions

Only the multiplayer demo is for the sequel. The first game had a single player/multi demo.
Three things made an impression on me (still on the first game's demo)
1)The sound.
2)Destructible environment. Sure it isn't RFG, but it is still very impressive.
3)Aiming and handling of weapons felt fun. Very very fun.
I am very tempted on buying the sequel for the PC, based on the demo of the first game on the PS3..lol.

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 [PC BETA] Opinions

I watched the IGN video review. Fail.
The review that is.
Claiming the single player campaign is very short and removing points for it...but not from MW2 which is shorter?
Saying that the single player campaign doesn't build tension and it is not that good because all you do is fight fight fight, on foot, in vehicles etc....WTF?
I am between the guy has been paid by Activision, or there is something wrong with him.
I guess I should have seen this coming when he mentioned at first that he didn't like the first game. How can anyone not like the first game?

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying people can't dislike this or any game, but the reasons behind it seem a bit on the meh side.

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 [PC BETA] Opinions

I started playing a few min ago.
I can't play online yet, can't connect to any server. At the bottom of the screen there is text saying that there is problem for some to connect, they are aware of it and working to solve it, so....
I started the single player campaign.
As you know the first mission takes place in the past.
Graphics and sound are very good, but what is more impressive is how fun it is to use your weapons. Aiming feels spot on. The whole experience so far is perfect.

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 [PC BETA] Opinions

There were rumors that it might be added later. I just thought that maybe beta testers might know more. Oh, well...

I am not a beta player. I bought the game.
There is no coop now. I don't know if they will release one for the future, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 [PC BETA] Opinions

So...is this DICE's attempt at making a Call of Duty game but with the Battlefield engine? I remember seeing the trailers for the first game and I thought it was sort of like Brothers in Arms with the movements and squad orders. Not sure how I got that impression

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 [PC BETA] Opinions

The game seems to attract more PC players than X360 or PS3 according to Associate Producer at DICE :

Quote:
btw: PC currently has more people playing and are in game servers than both the consoles.

Edit :Noticed on Kotaku that this post was taken the wrong way. The PC had more players than either console not more than both consoles combined. You'll need to work to beat both consoles combined effort
