Well, I got it.
I am a couple of hours in (right after the Church mission). I like it. After turning off the aim assistance, it feels great to shoot at nazis. I mostly snipe and I am proud to say most of my kills are HS.
The game looks great, sounds great (have to turn off the music as I do for all the FPS games) and plays great.
If you are looking for a good FPS game and don't have this one, get it.
I haven't tried it online and probably never will, but as a single player game, it's quite good.
The use of magic in the game doesn't ruin it for me, I rarely use it, mostly when I absolutely have to, to pass a "puzzle" or something.

I know this is not going to sound right, but the best part is how...shots on the enemies are...done. Depending on where you shoot your killshot the enemy will show the appropriate...damage and react (ie die) accordingly. It's superbly done. Oh one of the special weapons is like well...a death ray or something which disintegrates the enemy and no amount of videos or screenshots can prepare you for the awesomeness of how it is done.
I haven't finished the game yet, so take this for what it is, but so far I give this game a 4/5.

I just finished this game not long ago and also enjoyed it. Reminded me of Far Cry 2 a little. The SFX were well done, the weapons were cool, the Veil added a little extra to the gameplay, although i mostly used Empower, the levels were well designed and the story was good old Wolfenstein.

I like the flamethrower in that game. That was fun to use.

I am a bit busy lately so I haven't finished it, I am about half way through. The things I don't like so far are the small amount of different types of conventional weapons. Though of course completely understandable, I would have liked a few handguns etc. Also the noise/sound coming from some sources of energy. It just annoys me.
I don't use powers much other than to cross certain walls, or gun emplacements etc. I read a few things about how you can't afford to buy all the upgrades for the weapons and the powers and though it was going to get ugly.
I found myself having too much money, having fully upgraded my Kar98 and spent upgrades on all the usefull upgrades for the weapons and 1-2 powers that I use and still have money left AND only be at half way through the game.
It might be true there isn't enough money for everything, who am I to say no, but it is hardly the game ruining thing that many reviewers mention.

You know what I like more? The super enemy units are not "impossible" to kill. Or take an unbelievable amount of bullets to down.

It's a solid FPS that I like very much. I definitely enjoy it more than all the previous incarnations of the series.

You get more than 5$ worth of gameplay.

I remember slowly upgrading my weapons as i was finding the gold but never thought i wouldn't have enough. By the end i was only missing a few upgrades but that didn't stop me from laying the smack down on everyone.

Good FPS. Very very good shooting action. Bosses annoying but not Resident Evil 5 annoying. I am glad I bought it.
