issues with GTA series
I have a hp dv7-3060us laptop and the spec

CPU:2.40 GHz AMD Turion II Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor M600

Memory:4096MB

Video:ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 w/ 512mb
17.3” Diagonal HD+ High-Definition HP LED BrightView Widescreen Display

Sound:Altec Lansing with SRS Premium Sound and Sub-Woofer

so what can be done ?

Well i got both pc version GTA IV and GTA IV : EFLC

and i notice that GTA:IV run smoother where that GTA IV:EFLC become laggy after a while during games play no i did updated the patches for this games but yet the problem is still there plus i took precaution since i play it on my "gaming laptop" and i have a cooling system to composted the heating issues but is still lag

here the setting i have set on
resolution 1600x900
ratio auto or 16:9
Everything on low and set on 1

oh i almost forgot my o/s : window 7 Home Premium 64bit

That's a bit wired , I thought EFLC should run smoother than GTA IV. keep in mind that GTA IV , EFLC require too much Vram .

Because is 2 games in one and while i wait for an answer i did some "tinkering" and i found an solution but i want to see if anyone did it

go to : fileshack

and click on "patches"

and type : episode of liberty city

and you get this
Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City Title Update 1.1.1.0

so i download it and is gave in instruction how to installed it but i figured is self explanatory just add the rar files to the EFLC and run it and adjust the setting and is work

when or not is a fix ?

Interestingly enough, I found the unpatched version of EFLC runs smoother than the most up to date. I believe this is a known issue with the game too. It's a shame too because GTAIV's patches gave great performance increases and undid a lot of the complaints people have towards Rockstars optimization of the PC port.
