FAR CRY 2 - Eyefinity Screenshots

I'll be kind and only post the thumbnails here. But, playing FAR CRY 2 with 3x1 Eyefinity is AWESOME! I think I'm spoiled now.

The game performance is averaging around 30 FPS and is quite playable.

(I just wish I could get that third screen to stay on like it's suppose to. Working on either getting it fixed or an RMA is in the near future.)

OK....someone tell me why the imageshack thumbnails aren't showing up. ???

Looks like only the direct link works. I'll hold off until I find out what's up with imageshack's thumbnail links.

EDIT: Will have to go with direct -- non-image -- links to my gmail account. Hope they look good enough there.

NOTE: Doing it this way you will not be able to actually see the image in its full size. The image sizes are 5760×1080 pixels but this host scales the images down...apparently...so you won't be able to scale them up to their full size.

Pic isn't showing here............ If I right click and open in new tab I get a generic image shack page...... ???

All I see is the "broken image" in Chrome, which I can open in new tab/page...... sometimes. Not this time though.

When I post the thumbnail link, it shows up as I'm posting as text...as usual. But, once I finish with the Submit, I get nothing whatsoever...no image, no text link.... nothing...nada.

Now I'm seeing two "broken image" icons....... one does open your image, the other the generic page. So.... partially working???

EDIT: From that image I can scroll through your other far cry shots as well.

Yes, I created an album there. The only real drawback is not being able to see the images in their full size. At least on my end when I view them, the size is limited to the size of the browser window. And, even if I put the browser across all three screens, the image still won't fill them up.

Thanks for all the effort.

When I looked at the first pic, I though "Why the hell isn't the rest of it loading?!" Then it hit me...

Looks like something that would take a bit of getting used to, but very interesting.

This makes me want to Re-install it again. Then I remembered all the boring filler side missions and driving/walking around in the middle of no where most the time.

Edit: What they should have is an options to make the side a little blurry to better mimic peripheral vision. Also if you get damaged you get extreme tunnel vision. Not like an oval of view but a circle.

I think the downside in this game was the story and the voice acting. Farcry original was much better in this aspect.

Yes, on my HD5770.

EDIT: You asked for it! Here's a totally untouched, unedited photo of my current setup. The LCD at the far left will be getting replaced. It's a 22 inch whereas the other two are 24 inch. I've done a bit of color adjustment on the 22 inch to get a more consistent view while playing. It also prevents me from using the Bezel Comensation app.

In the words of Shao Kahn, well done! I'm one monitor away from doing that, actually one monitor and one eyefinity card. Maybe the next upgrade cycle.
Now if manufacturers would focus on bezel-less monitors instead of 3-give-me-a-headache-and-make-me-vomit-D, it would be the icing on the cake.

I already saw an article about bezel-less monitors. I think it was LG making them.

there are plenty of bezeless monitor solutions, but 99% of them are neither cheap nor are they designed for gaming at all... usually purely for office situations.

either way, that's quite the setup.. just as unique as my monitors on boxes across a sofa and coffee table... lol

Their model is called Borderless but its actually not bezel-less. What a marketing gimmick

the left monitor looks to be a little "cold" compared to the other two. or is that in-game? i've never played FC2.

The left monitor is a 22 inch compared to the other two being 24 inch. But, I believe the "coldness" is due to the angle of view the photo was taken. Keep in mind that some of these monitors don't fare so well when viewed from an angle over 160 degrees. So, keep that in mind.

I intend to upgrade this system using ALL 24 inch monitors. I even prefer to keep them all the same brand.

Will update in the near future.

Or it could be a white balance issue, if you've got bulbs with yellowish light and the camera tried to compensate, than the picture in the monitors, which are an independent light source and thus weren't affected by the lighting, got shifted towards the blueish part of the spectrum.

We will soon find out for sure. I'm planning to pick up a third Viewsonic today just like the two I have in the pic.

However, I have to get a different DisplayPort Adapter as I had to take the first one back for failing to keep a signal. I'm currently looking for a local source for a DisplayPort -> VGA adapter. I've been experimenting the past few days using the VGA input on my main LCD, and, believe it or not, I really cannot distinguish any noticeable different in IQ or performance between it and the DVI/HDMI options.

So, per reviews I've read, this DP -> VGA adapter does NOT require any external power source and is working quite well for Eyefinity setups. It's also much.... MUCH ... cheaper than the powered adapters.

Will update as soon as I'm back in business with Eyefinity.

Dyre, i would HIGHLY recommend you take a peak at 23" 2048x1152 monitors for the simple fact that they have a very narrow bezel, don't noticeably appear any smaller then a 24" and are just amazing and cheap as hell.

Samsungs newest model is also saposed to sport native display port with linking. Probably be a year before we so it with out luck though.

Judas, if I didn't already have two 24inch Viewsonics, I would. But, I'm not starting over. In fact, I picked up the third Viewsonic today at Office Depot.

I've now paid $199 for 2 of them and $179 for the one today. I'm heading to Fry's in a little bit to get the adapter and hope to have things setup later this evening.

EDIT: Updated:

I was able to get what seems to be a good working DP -> VGA adapter at Fry's for $50. I've been using it now for well over an hour with no loss of signal. [KNOCK ON WOOD!!!!]

I was able to get Eyefnity setup in less than 5 minutes once I got things connected. It works without any problem with Dragon Age: Origins.

But, for some reason now, Far Cry 2 REFUSES to see the Eyefinity setup. Instead, the game is shown in three instances on all three screens kind of squeezed together from the sides.

The Heaven Benchmark 2.0 works without any trouble, too. [Shown in the image below.]

You should be able to see more color consistency now that I'm using identical monitors for the setup.
