If you play any games made by " rockstar games " there social club is down as well there website

why rockstar ?

I never did opt to join the Social Club. But, FWIW, the site is working fine for me....

Maybe they were doing maintenance.

But, on another note, I did notice that I got a patch from GFWL that made the option to join the Social Club less intrusive. I just sign into GFWL and play GTA-IV that way.

IIRC the requirement to join/use the RGSC for GTA IV has been removed with the latest patch.

That's true. But, I do believe you can still join if you want to. I just never opted to do it.
