Problems connecting PS3 to TV
Everything is okay, I've followed the manual, the S-Video cables are plugged into "S-Video" on the TV in Red, Yellow and White and I don't know why the TV still won't recognise the PS3 signal. It keeps going "No Signal", the remote control has been lost for the TV, its an HD Viewsonic that is very high spec, I'm thinking of going back to the shop and buying HDMI cables and coming back instead of bothering with S-Video, can anyone shed light on what is happening with my brand new PS3?

Re: Problems connecting PS3 to TV
Found the remote control, trying to see if there's anything I can do to change the situation, the model number on the remote says "Viewsonic RC00136P".

Re: Problems connecting PS3 to TV
If this PS3 has ever been used on a different monitor or TV it could be that the video settings are screwing things up. One thing you could try doing is to reset the video.
First, make sure the PS3 is turned off. Press and hold in the power button. As it powers on you will hear 2 beeps at which point you should release the power button. As well, if you notice something on screen before the 2nd beep release the power button. |

Re: Problems connecting PS3 to TV
Okay guys, all is well, I got p'd off and went and got an HDMI cable, tried what you said Tipstaff but it didn't do it. And I've heard also like BlueMak says quality goes up a ton. So got an HDMI cable and during the setup I chose "Automatically choose best HDMI resolution" and now everything is chopped off in the corners. The picture doesen't fit the screen and now in a game like Tekken I can't see everything on the screen making it impossible to start a new game since its menu is in the top left, how do I set the resolution so it fits?
I've tried setting it manually but all you can do is set which resolutions the screen detects, this is driving me insane! And thanks BlueMak, much appreciated. ![]() Edit: It's okay everyone, I fixed the problem, had the TV on the Zoom X1 function so that was my problem, now its time to game non-stop til the sun goes down!!!
