A good FS?

I want a new flying game.

Got FSX. It's fun in it's way and it has it's charm but it's only flying really, nothing else.

Got Falcon 4.0, been playing that off and on since I got it like 7 years ago, but it's old, even with the mods.

So, I'm kind of looking for something like a 2010 version of the good old F/A-18 Interceptor which was the first game ever I bought for my first Amiga back in 1988.

I haven't really kept up with what's around so if anyone has a good suggestion I'd really appreciate it.

Any World War 1 flight sims that are really sims. Not interested in arcade style sims.

Re: A good FS?

Have you tried Tom Clancy's Hawx? Its kind of arcade but it got really high ratings so it might be worth a try.

Re: A good FS?

You remind me on the game that I played on commodore 64, called A.C.E.(see link)

Great game and very hard to play, maybe you should try it using emulator for commodore.

Re: A good FS?

You could try IL2 1946.

It's a WWII combat flight sim that you can play both off and online.

There is also a very good mod, which REALLY updated, and made the game very good, even if it's 7-8 years old.

If you would like some more info from one of the oldest, most respected Combat Flight Sim Groups around, go to the RAF662 site, register for the forums, and ask away. We are a n00b frienndly bunch, and have members from all over the world. I am RAF_OldBuzzard in the RAF662.

For a pure WWI sim, there is Rise of Flight:

I can't give you a personal assescment of it, because I have never tried it. The guys in the RAF662 the DO fly it seem to like it though.

Re: A good FS?

"MIG-21" was also a really good combat flight sim that came out in the 90's, if you can find it you should try it, its really good.
