I could only find the Xbox 360 demo, although the PS3 and PC should be already out, perhaps tomorrow.

I took part in the two single stage races.


So far...not happy. Not sure about the Rallies in it, I always thought that some Rallies were part of the WRC, but I don't see them, for example Acropolis. Anyway, the driving is more arcade than sim, but thankfully not at the level of Sega Rally. There are some customization options before each stage, suspension, tires, breaks, etc. There are presets if you don't feel like changing one at a time.
Unfortunately the only way to know what a stage is like to make any changes, is only shown as a scrolling text, which is helpful but not very detailed. You still need to be careful, at least with the choice of tires because they make a huge difference.
There are the usual camera options and the controls are fine with the gamepad. The voice of the co-driver is clear and there are several options for driving assist on or off, and on screen indicators and HUD.
The graphics are....nothing special, but good at the same time. Texture resolution feels a bit low, but natural and the frame rate remains very high all the time.


The major problem for me is one, and it is a game killer.
I am not sure if it is a filter or resolution issue or whatever, but after the first couple of meters in front of your car, everything blurs like you wouldn't believe. I am talking about feeling like having high level of shortsightness and not wearing your glasses. It is very uncomfortable and as I said a game killer for me. I am hoping that either the PS3 or PC version will be better at this, because if it isn't...I think I am going to cry.

More posts elsewhere about how horrible the game looks (visuals) on the Xbox 360 where the demo is released. It looks like a PS1 game. The PS3 demo is out on the 29th I think.

It's a good advice, but....in a WRC game? You might as well have a "don't do drugs" or "smoking causes cancer".

The game takes an eternity to load up... Just to be presented by some horrific graphics, I have seen better on the ps1 i owned years ago.....And along with the graphics there is a 2" border all the way round the outside of my screen (Maxed Out BTW)

On top of that i cant get my x360 controller to work with the demo...Even though the controls are listed in the load up screen....(it works in the menus)

going to remove this from my hdd as it's not worth the space...

Just quit the PC demo.
At max settings with blur, fog off just in case, the rest on, I get similar bad visuals to the 360 version, only slightly better, but still very very bad.
Not only that, but as Mig said, the 360 controller is not recognised while driving, only for the menus...
After about 15 sec driving, the temperature of my gpu reached 100C with the fan at 80%.
The loading times were very long, for what, I don't know. The cars feel very light, though driving properly is a huge problem for the reasons I mentioned earlier.

The developers of this game should off themselves.
If I go to the toilet, I will "deposit" a better Rally game than this pile.

I will still try the PS3 demo on the 29th, just in case, but with 2 out of 3 so far sucking so bad, I have no hope for the PS3 version.

Avoid this game at all costs or at the very least, try the demo before you consider buying it.

I tried the PS3 demo a bit earlier tonight. Same shit visuals. Though, surprisingly enough, the game feels smoother on the PS3 than either the 360 or my PC.

I wouldn't normally get upset over this, but because I want a modern proper Rally game so much, this is a huge disappointment.

That review didn't make any sense. Too high and it felt like the grade was given for what the game he wishes it was and not what it is.

The problem is not that it is ugly. The problem is that the poor visuals get in the way of the driving. The driving is at least slightly important in a racing game...

The game looks like an old pixelated mess with blur and fog on top and different resolutions depending on what you are looking at. Horrible.
