Team Fortress 2 50% off, only €7,49

So, for anyone who, like me, hasn't played TF2, here's a great chance to grab it.

I have to ask, how noob and casual friendly is the game? I don't get to game much, so, ideally, I'd like to be able to more or less jump right in. Among similar games, I played Battlefield Heroes and it was simple enough, although it did require some playing time to improve a character's abilities (and the people buying upgraded weapons through microtransactions were obviously at an advantage).

I got it a long time ago. It's very casual friendly. You can pick-up and join a server at any time, though don't expect to be too good without practice. It is an easy game to pick up, as any given class has a max of 3 weapons + some other abilities and there are some new player servers to play on to get used to it. I still play it on occasion, myself.

The gameplay is all fps, with the standard capture-the-flag and control points styles with some added ones such as push a cart to the finish, territory control, etc. It's really a blast, and unlike the standard CoD/MW/etc games, it's more about having fun than anything else. It's worth the price, in my opinion, check it out on the steam page or their blog at teamfortress.com

I only just had the chance to play a bit. It seems a little fast paced for me, but still fun and I guess I'll get better, I haven't played anything similar in a while.

I spent most of yesterday on TF2.... Quite enjoyable.....

But im not sure if i will buy this one.... Just need a few more hours to decide.

I still haven't received any items and I still unsure how to get them.

Offered advice has been as follows:
Blowjobs to Valve
Running around in circles while firing up in the air
Playing a whole round backwards
Fire the most bullets in a round without hitting anyone

I have tried all of these to no avail!

There was also to just play the game more but that was the first scratched off my list. What kind off studio would reward someone for devoting all their free time to a single game...

You just pick them up during play and they appear in your backpack so you can later modify them or equip them to your characters. I only played 3-4 matches so far and I found some level 5 spy watch.

I've seen them over a few heads, though not too many.

What classes are you people playing? I played a couple of practice rounds as a soldier, but, since rocket launchers were never my thing, when I went online I switched to heavy. I found it okay, but not that fun so tonight I joined an arena type game as a medic and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Supporting role was an interesting change of pace and that syringe gun is not half bad either, I picked off 5 enemies with it before getting killed in my first round.

So what are your favourite classes and what do you like to do with them?

This is one of my favourite games of all time, I play all classes with sniper and pyro being my favourite class, good to see some more people join the fray.
