I know there was a thread in the flaming zone but I wanted to put up a flame free poll here in the gaming forum.... I for one sooooo wish people would let this dead, aged, decrepit dinosaur of a horrible game die!!! I mean how on earth or even WHY ATI or Nvidia would go to the trouble of focusing so many YEARS backwards is beyond me! I for one certainly wish it would all just go away

It will never happen Mr. Shuki, the mind control rays beamed from the cathode tube make them paralyzes with joy. I demand one million dollars for their release!

Which is funny because I've been hoping forever that they would port it to unreal and then they might win that cash cow nvidias got going right now, but oh well. Moveing on... HL 2 will be out soon and I'm sure CS for it will come out a few months after...

the game is ancient and as far as I have seen, pretty much always sucked. just my opinion.

I couldn't care less. Its one of those games I could never really pick up, but if other people like it then thats fine by me - so long as they don't shove it in my face all the time.

Well look at it this way. As soon as the gaming industry gives us something new to play thats as fun I'll stop playing it. Though seriously people still play Q1 on a regular basis. There are active clans still now, active mods coming out...

So what if its old. They have yet to provide the world with a game thats as fun. GOps, ha... Other CS clones have been less than inspiring.

Hell I'm sure CS on HL2 will be crap. Personally I haven't liked how the upgrades have been going since 7.1, I quit for a year, though I eventually went back because its still fun. Its nice to play a game where theres a reasonable team effort, even on a pub server. I only play on one server. Thats it, and its because the comchat is hilarious and the other players can actually play. I have yet to recapture that in any other game or mod personally, and I imagine its the same for a number of others.

Though your right, the amount of CS problems on here is crazy. At least its helping ATi ensure their future graphics drivers are back wards compatible. I don't know about you but in ten years I want to be able to load up my older games and have them work. Why do you think there are so many ports of dukeN3D to XP and linux after the source was released? Not everyone really wants to pull out the old 486 that probably doesn't have a monitor anymore to recapture older games. Some people cant even find their old 486...

Ah well, I'm not trying to convince you of its greatness. Just saying wait awile and eventually people will move on from HL. Eventually.
