Fallout:New Vegas
I was just wondering if anyone on here played Fallout:New Vegas on PC and if so how it runs for them and what Video Card they Have.
I have only my lonely laptop now and I don't like how the game looks due to the inadequacies of my video card which is a ATI mobility Radeon HD 2600 |

Re: Fallout:New Vegas
Either get yourself a console (which would be the cheaper fix) or get a better PC (tower PC's are cheaper than laptops and you get a lot of bang for your buck). Those are your only options.

Re: Fallout:New Vegas
I realize that and am working towards the tower pc but I was just trying to see what ppl were running cards to settings so I would have some idea of what card would be enough. I want a desktop just so I can use my laptop less and not kill it.
but anyways I think the game is great and a well done follow up to Fallout 3 |

Re: Fallout:New Vegas
I don't think the game is heavy (hardware wise) it is based on old engine. The problems I hear is just with the bugs just like Fallout 3.

Re: Fallout:New Vegas
For an HD2600 it would be heavy comp.

Re: Fallout:New Vegas
I would recommend a 460 right now, which should serve you well enough for games coming out in the future.
And, yeah, the game is rather buggy. |

Re: Fallout:New Vegas
I was thinking of getting a saphire 6850 which is about the same as the 460 so I will just stick with that when I get a desktop

Re: Fallout:New Vegas
If I remember rightly, Fallout 3 New Vegas is based on the same engine as ES4: Oblivion and as such has very similar hardware requirements.
I used to play Oblivion quite happily with a Celeron D (3.8ghz single core) and an 8500GT 512, a similar card to the 2600. I know people who played Oblivion in worse systems still (think 2.8ghz P4 + Geforce 7300LE or laptops with mobile Nv 6 series). So... while you won't be able to get the full eye candy on your current system, you might enjoy it nonetheless, so if you don't mind a relativley low resolution and close to minimum settings, go for it :P
