usually it does on mine.... specially when i have to wait about 2x as long as it took me to complete the entire race for the next runners up to start showing times..

but still.. cmon.. that's a bit CRAZY in terms of placement times and whatnot being totally wrong.

Most recently i was watching someone play my game, they CLEARLY came in 4th place, but gt5 showed 5th place message, show the time, then turned around and awarded her with 4th place winnings..... try and figure that out....

Yea it's one thing to affect A/B spec, but if it's happening online, it needs to be rectified. I mean seriously how do you get bugs like that. A basic timing system. The first one you might assume it's rounding up to the .1 and not the second place, so errors could occure, but that's clearly out the window with the lower one so who knows.

actually i didn't notice the first screw up until i looked at the picture i took more closely.. i orginally noticed the 15th second behind showing up in a higher placement then the 14th second one which caught my eye..

As there is a send a car to Friend option... If i choose to send A car to the named Friend for a trial..Can the Person who receives it send it back to me ?

You can only gift one car a day, which rolls over at midnight for us, i.e. you can send one at 11.45pm and then at 12.01am you could send another but will then have to wait 24hrs.

You can send any car, and when they've received it they will be able to gift it back as long as they haven't already sent one that day.


I've noticed the share online with friends thing as well, and when I've done it it seems to put the car online for friends to be able to use. But this may only be to use in an online capacity and not in A-Spec / B-Spec. I will try and find out later if this share online feature lets them use the car because that would be a better solution.

Curious to know how people are coming along with this game still.

My B spec driver skill lvl is 37.... my highest driver however is 35 atm..

My first driver i created maxed out at lvl 27.... it doesn't gain anymore experience and doesn't improve his driving anymore.... he's won nearly 400 out of 400 races...

My 4 other drivers are all average 35...... however to fill the 6th slot.. i waited until my bspec lvl was lvl 35... so that i can compete in the lvl 35, 24 hour race..

At which point..... i create the driver.... and being that you only select 3 drivers to race in the 24hour.... i picked 2 of the lvl 35's and the lvl 0...

After 24 hours and of course winning... the lvl 0 went to lvl 29 in one shot... 3/4's of the stats will filled in that single race... and has little to no experience bar filled so the skys the limit i sapose on lvling this character.... pretty impressive considering he's better then my first driver created in a single race vs his 400+.... lol..

Also i have the Redbull X2010 Vettel (spelling?) which is.... for lack of a better word.... insanity.

In a 24 hour race... using this car.. it laps the 2nd place winner over 120-150 times.

It's a "I win" car..... just pick it and start.. and voilla..

Another thing that i found out.... it utterly SUCKS you can't have more then 20,000,000 credits... the game point blank says you can't and you just sit at 20,000,000. So what i've been doing is just hitting that cap.. and buying another few cars to increase my garage.

Also i'm still waiting for the 1970's Chapalla or whatever it's called, the orginal active downforce race car so i can win that bloody b spec 1979 classic super car race..... of ALL the cars i've got..... be it the farrari or toyota or gt40 and so forth..... Not one of them can beat those damn chapalla cars.. they always come in first place..... and in some cases have almost lapped people..... it's insane.

I check the used car listing repeatedly... but not once has it show... this is done DAILY..... being a race is 24 hours now.... i check it after each race... still nothing..

The online used list is also junk cars.

but between both.. almost all of the cars are ALWAYS Japanese cars.. .wtf is this.... theres like 1-5 at MOST other branded cars.... but the other 30-40+ are all crap cars i don't ever need.

In one case there are 8 LISTINGS of the exact same car.. all the same year... different miles on them.. but same color and almost the same price..... it's like the developers just set it to random and then put high chance rate for those cars.....

that toyota will work fine, both i and my b spec driver won with it. close race, ill admit, but very doable.

The toyota 7..... reguardless of the gear ratios i plug in.... just keeps losing on the one track with all the corners...

Actually 95% of the time... and i'm seeing the other computer drivers do this to that drive the toyota 7..... ALL of them run into that one little spot causing a car pile up if there are cars behind.... it's like the programmers put in an ideal path that is to narrow for the toyota 7's causing them to hit the side (even if they are not trying to pass anyone).

It's quite irritating.. but if i put a toyota 7 in with short gear ratios (suggesting better acceleration).... it'll lose faster then if i put them in with a higher gear ratios.... why.... i'm still not sure.

But for the life of all my 6 drivers.. all in their lvl 35+ and top end stats.... reguardless of car.... i cannot touch the chapallas... period... they are all WAY WAY ahead of all the other cars almost emediately.

Like i said... reguardless of how much attention i pay to instructing my drivers.. and many different ways.... the best i can manage is 10th place due to the toyota 7s all crashing (usually there are 2 of them in the race)

-[Controller Steering Sensitivity] has been added to [Driving Options].

-In replays, B Spec and while watching races, you can now change viewing targets directly from the screen without having to use a separate window list.

-Personal BGM can now be used when voice chat is disabled in a [Lounge].


-Cars in your garage that are not registered as 'Favorites' can now be used in a [Lounge].

the Remote racing is imo a bit of a joke... it appears it gives you completely different events from what is on the game... which is good. .but doesn't allow you to race anything above lvl 20 atm...

i'll probably plow through those races once i complete my goal of hitting lvl 40 and finishing the last 24 hour race..

i'd be lvl 38 now if sony hadn't killed my game to update it without my agreement...

GT Academy 2011
From 09.00 GMT on 4/03/2011 you will be able to enter GT Academy. To be able to do so, you will first have to register your details on gran-turismo.com and then fire up GT5. Friend Rankings
In Drift Trials and Time Trials, you can now display leaderboards that shows only your friends. While it was difficult before to locate your friends in the general leaderboards, this now makes it easier to compare laptimes with them, allowing you to compete just between your friends for the best laps and scores.

Correction of Known Issues
The calculation of performance points (PP) which is an index of a car's performance is now calculated without taking into account the tyre selection. You can now combine the performance point restriction and the tire restriction when setting the regulations for a lounge.

Other Changes
Cars worth over 1,000,000 Cr. (Including those in a gift car coupon form) are now prohibited from being traded to prevent troubles during the trading process. When lending and borrowing cars between friends, please utilize the rental car system.

To Check Your Current Version
To check the version of your software, press the "Manual" button at the bottom of the main menu screen. The version number will be located on the upper left of the index page in this manual.

If the number starts with "Ver. 1.07″, you are playing the latest version of the game.

If not, please press PS button and quit the game. The game will be updated automatically when you restart it with your PS3 connected to internet.

On b spec.... i don't pause or whatever... i start it... walk away.... sleep.. wake up the next morning.. and it's done and i've won..

I've 2x Redbull X2010's in my garage too lol..

my A spec is only 25 still... The only race i haven't gotten a gold in B spec is currently nascar.... bugger even if i pace him down ends up in first.. and then emediately loses 1st and ends up in last or close to last place halfway through the final lap.

In game saves is going to come in a patch quite soon...I posted a it in gaming news a couple of weeks ago..

That dont work when the races get longer and harder....If you let the the bar fall into the blue makes the B-spec driver slower and over cautious.

Aside from the FIRST few b-spec lvls and races... with slower cars... i had to pace the driver.


However once i got decent cars..

I never once had to do anything with bspec...

right around Proffesional lvl racing in bspec... i would start a race.... put the controller down... and come back when the race was done and i always was in first place.

the ONLY race i can't do that.. and even when i'm pacing the crap out of my driver.. is the NASCAR race... and i still can't win yet.

Thats not how it works for me.... It probably depends how the B-Spec Driver was set....

The third set of B-Spec races,The Ferrari Challange... I have the Enzo fully maxed... My B-Spec Driver (@ level 14 and the race is lvl14) i could not get any better than silver after 8 attempts..After replaying a few previous tracks (Needed the Cash also) i have raised my driver to lvl 20 and won the race easily...

In some parts of leaving the driver to its do its own thing works sometimes not.

i found the enzo performed very poorly... i think the car i used for the ferrari challange was the 2008 Italy or whatever it's called... souped to the max... best tires for the race.. and i set my lvl 0 driver in it and he won first place..

Even in the lvl 25-40 races with lvl 0 driver.. has won every single time first place... without any pacing or anything..

So...I finally managed to buy the game and after about 33 days of installation, I was able to try (after changing settings to "hard") this game.

I now "get it". It feels so good driving in this game, even with just my gamepad. I have never experienced another game which felt so good. Including the latest Forza and old gems. Yes, the background graphics are nothing to write home about, but the game is....it feels just about right, it feels fun and it....I played 5 laps at Laguna Seca. I was smiling all the way.

If you like driving games and have a PS3, get this game! If you don't have a PS3, buy one and get this game!

I actually bought this game and have not loaded it yet. Hard to balance 3 systems, but i'll definitely give it a spin over the weekend. The last driving game i played was TD:U and, yet to finish it.
