Dragon Age II

What do you guys think of it? I just finished playing the PS3 demo.

+Graphics are good for a console
+Presentation is good.
+Dialogue is not that bad.
+Tits.
+The Witch, everything about her. It felt like the actress was the only one in the role.

-Combat: It feels like Golden Axe with more buttons and easier.
-Hopefully it is just the demo, but it feels very very linear.
-again this might be just the demo, but, everything is so brown!
-The darskspawn made me feel a few things, fear was not one of them.
They felt like extras in a bad zombie movie with the zombies running all the time.
-Humans too were a lot of meh.
-I wanted the demo to finish, I got bored.
-Main character's voice is very blunt. I didn't like how he sounded when he was being compassionate, funny, sarcastic or "evil".

The game surprisingly (for me) is a budget purchase only.
I might give the PC version a try (perhaps try to play as a woman this time) but I don't really see the point since the game is supposed to play the same way.

From the demo, I have no idea how this feels like a great RPG to anyone who has played RPGs before.

Re: Dragon Age II

Honestly, I'm not sure if I'll get this one anytime soon...or at all. I actually lost interest in the first one after a few hours of playing it. I keep telling myself that I need to get back to it, but just don't have the initiative needed to do it.

Re: Dragon Age II

I know I am being unfair to DA2 since I have only played the demo, but, it's times like this when I feel that games like Two Words have gathered scores from professionals far lower, for reasons that are....interesting.

After the first half an hour of TW (or other RPGs with lower scores) I wanted to play more, this time, I was bored.

They have turned the game from an RPG to a button smasher hack n slash game with combat less difficult and as as linear as Gold Axe.

Or, Heavenly Sword which actually (IMO) has a better battle system.

Re: Dragon Age II

I tried the demo. I think I'll pass on this one at least until the price drops quite a bit. I just do NOT like the controls.

Re: Dragon Age II

played the demo... cumbersome controls and the graphics screwed up (couldnt play on anything higher than low - not the games problem though i'd assume)

I did like how it ended though... you know, the offer for overnight residence ?

Had no problem with the graphics on this end. Played at the highest options available and it played smooth thorughout. Just don't like HOW it plays.

Re: Dragon Age II

Me neither... the controls were awkward, having to click to attack as well as move effectively was really tricky. I suspect its better on consoles...

There was no nudity in the first, unless you use non stock textures.

Re: Dragon Age II

I also found the dialogue really lacking in expression... all of the options sounded the same - as if the character was just reading it off a script. I'd like to get into a game like it, but this is not the game.

Re: Dragon Age II

played the first one, I cant see how people can stand that game TBH.

I thought it was quite retarded as if it was a watered down MMO you played offline.

Re: Dragon Age II

I liked the first one. To me it was what the Baulders Gate series and NWN's would have moved to had they stuck with that line. Anyway, I had heard that they were moving to more of a Mass Affect battle formula and from the sounds of it, it doesn't sound all that great. I was hoping this one would have had more of what DA had and built on it, not have a linear story line and limited options. This will have to be a budget buy if that maybe, which kind of sucks. I was really looking forward to this one.
