Ubisoft "Borrows" from Pirates (again)

A couple of years ago, there was quite a bit of fuss when it was discovered that Ubisoft's "fix" for Rainbow 6 Vegas was in fact a crack for that game originally made by pirates.

This time, it's one of the Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Deluxe Download Edition exclusives. After the extras were made available for download to pre-purchasers on GamersGate, a fellow gamer pointed out to me, and I was able to confirm, that the "exclusive", "official" game soundtrack was actually a pirated mp3 version which still comes with errors in ID3 tags and the comment "Encoded by arsa13":

This is probably the third time for them, so it is a habit I think saving additional ---> more profit

Or the employee who had the task to rip the CD from the Codex Edition wouldn't bother with spending 15 minutes on that.

i'm not at all surprised.... if someone else is smart enough and took the time to encode it.... why try to do the same thing and spend the time...

what i do wonder though is if the guy hired to crack it... at ubisoft... got paid for the guy that actually cracked it..

Lack of business ethic... complain and try to prevent piracy yet you engage in it yourself? Ubisoft has been releasing shit after Chaos Theory IMO. Vegas was cool, but the game felt like a money grab. Ain't getting far.

Re: Ubisoft "Borrows" from Pirates (again)

this is pretty funny, you'd think that they would at the very least clean up the pirate code and make it look more "official"

this just shows that the company is getting more and more half-assed when it comes to their games...

You don't know the 1/2 of it.

The Il2 Sturmovic flight sim guys have been waiting for YEARS the the new sim, and it's finally 'supposed' to be released later this month.

BUT, no one really knows in what countries, at what time, or in what format (D/L, DVD, Steam), nor on what date, and it may be available in some countries at one time and not in other countries until as much as a month or more later.

Also there is/was supposed to be a special "Collectors Edition", which a lot of folks all over the world have pre-ordered, but now it appears that it either won't be available, or it will only be available in certain countries. Which, UBI has remained almost silent about.

All in all it's been one big cluster****
