I just finished my first play. I think it took me about 30-40 minutes including the tutorial. I died by a tall red eyed chap in one hit I think. So I decided to take a small break.

So far, very good game. The controls are good and responsive, although I have yet to perform a parry when I wanted.
I play as Wanderer. The game is hard, but, not the kind of hard I have heard some talking about. At least not yet. It almost feels, fair hard. You need to use your brain for each opponent.
In a way it feels like a melee fighting sim.

The graphics are good, music I can hardly hear most of the time, but that's good. The sound helps a lot to defend against sneak attacks.

No idea if I will be able to finish it, but it is fun.

I was reminiscing about Moon Stone on the Amiga the other day and I think I'd enjoy the old school aspect of Demon Souls, if it's the game I think it is. But also, this is definitely a game I'd want a console for, which I'm not getting anyway.

The main issue I have with the game is how depressing it is. Yes it is good, but I can't play it for long without a break. I guess in that it is similar to the movie Brazil.

I'm pretty excited about this game. I haven't beat Demon's Soul yet but I'm working on it. Word on the street (that is from Gamestop ) is that the server is going to be taken down? Is this true?

I read something a few weeks ago that they are going to shut them down this year.

Can't seem to find my post on this. Anyways...

Atlus has still maintained that the servers would stay up until October 2011, which coincides with the 2 year anniversary of the game, plus the release date for Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls.
