Rage problems

Hello,

I installed rage, its really a cool game but it still needs lots of tweaks... I installed the latest driver 11.10 (version 2 its a preview Driver)
AMD Catalyst? 11.10 Preview Driver Version 2
But it has some tweaks for Rage,
I do experience better frames per second, but the problem with 100% CPU and 0% GPU isnt solved. Its still 1 second play 10 seconds freeze.

So i turned off Catalyst AI. Then i'm able to "play"
stable 30-40 fps, and the texture popping is also much less.
but i get these weard textures.

System Specs:

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650
4GB ram
Intel Core 2 Duo P8700

The best advice I can offer is to google round and try the various fixes being touted.

I spent an hour last night and another hour this morning trying to get some kind of stability.

Apart from that all we can do is wait for the patch and a new set of drivers.

It's a current issue with Rage that it isn't playable on any ATI/AMD cards (including 6970s and 6990s). AMD issued an emergency driver update, but Bethesda recommends not using it and waiting for an update to the game. Sorry :/

Actually Cassini did give you an answer that suits the current problems...

I were tempted to get Rage last week until i started to see many issues with rage so i held off from buying it at fot the time being.

Im a Nvidia user so it may be different for these cards...

However please read this post via Steam.

Its recommending not to use the 11.10 hotfix and ID is working with AMD to try to solve the issues as quickly as possible...

Be patient and a solution should come in time.

I don't have the game but made this recommendation based on what I've been reading. It worked for Mr. Cairo. So, you might want to give it try. I also read there's now a 1 GB patch out for the game.

I'll try the 1GB patch.
And i use the Catalyst 11.10 preview 2 driver... its the best they advice

EDIT:
Still the same, graphics are much nicer but the rest is still the same
