Have you guys heard about this game? Well if you didnt then you are missing a 10€ bargain !

It's being developed by Slightly Mad Studios (the same producers of Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed but without EA behind them) and it is being supported by the community using a system alike Kickstarter Project called World of Mass development.

If you help them fund their project you are not only able to play the pre-alpha now (yes you can play it already) and get weekly updates with new features and try them out, you will get aswell some perks depending on how much you help them with, free game copy, your name as a AI, exclusive cars and tracks and the ability to participate on special events!

So far they have gathered around €2.9Million with the support of the community and acquired licenses for over 50 cars including some of the most emblemating racing cars.

Everything i've seen looks amazing, look at the quality and detail put in those cars and all of these pictures where taken ingame!

They added some new info about a possible support for Oculus Rift the Virtual Reality set that was funded in Kickstarter! This will bring alot of new features to the game when it comes out !

Man we at the forums are having a massive poll about what cars we want ingame for a long time, so far they got 2 brands we wanted BMW and Fords, we really hope alfa is next since most of the game carreer goes through competitions were alfas exists in a large scale!

Yeah, it does look like a nice game, doesn't look community assisted at all, looks really professional. Shift 2 Unleashed was a good game.

Community assisted doesnt mean the community makes models or something, we help them with reference images for tracks and cars.
We suggest changes to the game, give feedback on requested items, help new members and in return we get weekly builds and constant feedback of what they are doing and planning.

About being a substitution to Gran Turismo for PC it wont be a car collectors game, maybe if this one succeeds they make it for the pCars 2.0

Yeah they will, estimated is around March 2013 unless something major happens. It will come out for PC, PS3, XBOX 360 and Wii U.

LOL Sorry big mistake by my part !! It will be available for PC i just forgot to place it in the list since it was already mentioned in the main post !
You can even play the game before it comes out if you want, its currently in a closed alpha state. Theres alot of people playing it but unfortunatly theres no MP yet, you can only beat records for the moment but the MP is coming fast !

About the Alfas, they will have GT Cars and we all know that Alfas were a important part so even tho theres nothing now we are still voting in the internal polls for the devs to get a licence for!

Hey everyone got some new updates about the project!


It is getting along pretty nicely with daily updates by the developers.
They have been teasing us with the progress on the BMW M1 Procar the BMW Z4 that will be soon in-game and available to play (there’s more @ the forums but I can’t show them).






Amazing the amount of detail these guys place into a car with even the tiniest bolt being carefully placed on the right spot !
They also have shown us some updates on the tracks, in particular Nordschleife, Bathurst, Spa francorchamps, Laguna Seca but some of the shots are so early that I cant publish in here L but they are on the forums available to anyone who wants to join the project. Here’s some shots that can be seen:

7 September - THE BMWS ARE HERE !

They are still in a very early stage of development but the Devs couldnt resist the pressure made by the community and released our beloved BMWs!





note: Theres still more BMW's in the assembly line like the BMW 1M!

They also included alot of fixes/improvements to some of our favorite tracks and changes to the Force Feedback with new settings that hopefully will give a better feeling, the devs are requesting feedback from the community in the forums in order to get them even better.

Ps: Im not trying to bump the thread (wouldnt make sense since its in the 1st page) , just posting an update with some cool info since everyone loves BMWs!

We`ve released a new Build of Project CARS, adding the 2012 BMW Z4 GT3 and the 1981 BMW M1 Procar to the title

Ghost racing will be added to the builds later this week

Our online coders have shared plenty of progress reports from the multiplayer department

Our Render Lead Robert Dibley has shared some interesting info on the shadow system

Andy Tudor has added some cool UI improvements to the newest builds of pCARS

In-race saving will be coming to Project CARS


Fixes & Updates

A new chase camera has been added, feedback is welcome

Seat adjustment limits have been increased to allow the creation of interesting new driving views

Casey Ringley has done some LOD & AO work on the 2012 Formula Rookie

Floating karts in replays have been fixed

Jin Ding draw distance issues have been addressed

New trackside objects have been added to Azure Circuit

I wouldn't trust any other publisher/distributor.... specially if they list it for free and steam/value allows for the use of their servers and update management

Everyone in the community is hoping they go that way but there must be a distributor for the console versions so it will depend on the contract they get.

Great news everyone, the first Multiplayer testing of Project CARS occured today and it went smooth! The developers invited some members to try with them and discussed the progress with them live through a chat meeting. There were 13 players from US, Asia and Europe all playing together on the same server and there was no visible warping or other major issue like it was expected !

I don't think i'm even a member... i've visted the site several times.. but i didn't see any clear place to join... which obviously makes it difficult to download the game specially when it looks like it's specific to certain members with certain ranks

Ok so here how it work, you have the option to choose how much you want to help the devs fund the game using the tools and perks below.

"PROJECT CARS" TOOLS & PERKS...




Each Tool gives you some perks, for example:

Junior is the more limited version, you only have a few cars and tracks to play around and the patches only come once a month.

Full member is one of the most complete packages, only missing 2 tracks Nurburgring GP and Northampton if i recall.


GET HANDS ON WITH PROJECT CARS!

Getting involved with Project CARS has never been easier! Just follow these simple instructions...

1. Register on the forums
2. Become a Project CARS Team Member
3. Download the launcher from the link at the top of the forum
4. Install the launcher and start downloading the full client

You should then be able to log in to the game with your forum details.
