HalfLife2 - TrapTown Movie Compressed

This is the 180+ MB Binks movie reduced to 12.4 MB for 56K DialUP.

I'll leave this up for at least 24 hours for those who have dial-up access and want to see the movie. You'll need Media Player 9 or an app that can play wmv movies.

thanks. I'm not on dialup... but there's no way in crap I'm downloading a 180meg file for a game movie. I mean a game movie should not be over 50megs. Though thats just my opinion. So many thanks Dyre Straits.

you would be surprised at the demo it's exellent quality looking more and more like it's one of those fsp games that will rock there hasn't been any for a while.took me less than hour to download big advantage being on adsl.

understanably for those still on 56k its a deccent video,but u would see a lot more detail on the full video.

No Kidding!! LOL

When you take into consideration that this was compressed from 180 MB to 12.4 MB, you have to understand there's a huge loss in detail and clarity.

thats not what i meant!i did say it were a good video for it's size just saying that i have now seen both and i'd prefer the 180mb vid.but i am on 512k adsl.

still pretty good detail on the 12mb 56k video.

point is it will keep those who are waiting for hl2 now it's been delayed again going in overwhelming anticipation.

Well, I 'Binked' the Bink Movie of this and came out with an exceptionally great looking compressed movie. It's now down to 74.8 MB and the only app you need to play it with is RadTools.

The only problem is: I have nowhere to upload a file of that size.

On my 1280x1024x32 res Desktop, it fills about a third of the screen.

Also, it took over 7 hours to do the conversion, but it did so very well.

Dear lord, I remember the first Half Life blowing me away....

I can't wait until they make counter strike 2 out of this. I hope to god they don't put the damn AWP in it.
