Half-Life 2 Release Date ??

According to Amazon the release is now scheduled for December 1st!

Yes indeed. A full week of with no HL2, so I bought myself Chrome (on Zardon's reccomendation), Homeworld 2 (also on the big Z's reccomend), Jedi Acadamy and I have also aquired the Halo 1.5 Beta.

On the downside, I think I've just buggered my motherboard. Its doing some crazy things like OCing the FSB all by itself and my CPU is now being reported as a 2.43 P4 instead of plain old 2.4. Plus the BIOS is allowing me to set the vCore to new settings like 1.3v ???? And sometimes the bloody thing wont post. I cant believe this is happening as I had decided not to upgrade after all and was going to get a Pioneer DVD burner instead.

now have mine up & running after 2 days without a pc i were like a nervous wreck.
quite a few probs installing windows on my abit board.thought it were faulty ram as told by serviceman in store for diagnosis.

this is what i didn't know that when phoned overclockers for a rma number gave me this advice try the volt setting in bios instead of stock of 2.6 slide up one notch to 2.7,thats what osz ram needs for power.so done so and now have 1024mb.

are you cancelling the burner & getting a new mobo or going to try to fix yours first.might just need to re-flash the bios?

Gonna try to fix. Its working - to a fashion and I've had to remove the battery. The reason it went off was cos I was fannying on with a fan - while it was powered up and I shorted the 12v supply. Machine promptly switch off and wouldnt come back on. The BIOS is the wierdest thing though as I had to remove the battery to get it to post and when I did, it had overclocked itself to 272Mhz DDR, I checked the settings and nothing was overclocked. I'm settling down with the wife tonight so I wont get to test properly until tomorrow. I'll leave the battery and power out until then and see if this has any effect.

Just panicking. I think this might be how I bust one of my other machines. Silly me. Need to be more carefull. If half life 2 was out on tuesday then I might not feel the need to be fiddling all the time.

Yeah it's not driver related. I have tryied everything possable. Fresh install of xp latest direct x , latest agp drivers, latest bio's, every cat driver since 3.2 and even omega, tried turring the agp voltage to 1.6v bought a new Antec dual fan 400w PSU, checked all voltages with MBM5 all in the green. pulled every device out of my pc, tried diffent ram, even used my office computer at work and mix and match parts, Thats how i found out that my card run's fine @ 4X because my PC at work is a 2X-4X board. plus another driver heaven member has the same board as me and he also has the same problem, im just trying to narrow it down to chipset or just the board.
