Not strictly true. Gabe said they are working toward Christmas. He didn't say it would be out by then.

What I would like to see is developers telling their customers what the holdups are. We never ever find out, and just get told "its delayed". I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to let us know whether the game is finished or not and what they are having to do without going into too much detail.

I agree Logla. In this case tho, Gabe said in the interview that the main thing they were doing atm was having lots of different ppl play and then look at their reactions on the game and different things in the game... how ppl seem to want to interact w/ A.I. and such....

"There is the Half Life 2 source code floating around the net right now. It looks to be about a month old. There's no official word from Valve on the source code leak yet. Unfortunately those who want to use it to cheat already have it, we need to get the word to legitimate customers to educate them about the situation. "

another news site have an official statement saying game release has been pushed to april 2004. they have to rewrite all the code that was stolen apparently, and its a third of the total amount of code

I doubt we will hear anything at all from Mr Gabe Newell himself right now. I would guess His fine relation w/ the community is pretty much dead as of now and he's having a hard enough time being the cause of this enourmosly tragic event.

OMG, hl2 just entered the club of missed release dates already hosting members as StarCraft, Diablo I/II, Duke Nukem Never and Doom III. Only difference is, in this case it wasnt developers fault... they were f**cking stabbed in the back!
