Half-Life 2 Release Date ??

It's bad enough that Vavle bump Half-life 2 up to October 30th, but know im hearing it has been bumped again to November OF NEXT YEAR! Please tell me this is not true. Has anyone els heard news of the release? Or should i start being worried now.

I haven't heard this, but it may very well be true. Since id has delayed the release of Doom 3 Vavle might not feel it necessary to release it yet.

hope not.but bear in mind i pre-orderd world championhip snooker for pc online have had atleast 6 emails informing me change of release date.

Hmmm CompUSA has it set for release in Nov of this year

What was the URL of that website that used to have a countdown to the release date for Half-Life 2? I can't seem to find it tonite for some reason. I thought it was http://www.halflife2.net but if it was the counter seems to be gone now.

However i would be very surprized to see them pushing off the release date THAT much... maybe till late fall or early spring at the very latest would be my guess.

I have heard that the release date has NOT changed and that they are still planning on Sept. I will check my sorces and see what I find out.....

Sounds about right. I don't think they're going to be anymore specific than that.

Today Valve's Greg Coomber insisted Half-Life 2 will hit the shelves on September 30th as planned, despite a large number of rumors and false announcements saying that the game will slip.

Speaking at ECTS this morning, Coomber stated "it'll be tight, but Half-Life 2 is still on for a September 30th ship". Sadly Valve’s presentation at ECTS was the same as the one shown at E3 earlier this year. Look forward to a few more of the E3 videos coming through Steam soon

I do hope this doesn't slip. This is the one game I have been waiting for since the beginning of the year and the tension is killing me.

Everything you hear about Half-Life 2 being delayed is entirely based upon rumors. None of it to this point has been proven with an official statement by valve. Vivendi is also saying its initial claims of a delay were merely a miscommunication between themselves and valve.

The official release date still stands at September 30th. We have to wait for an official statement, but if we don't hear or see one, you will probably see the game on retailers shelves on this date.

But nothing has actually been confirmed by anyone though has it?

If Valve come out publicly and say it won't be out until November then fair enough but I honestley reckon that they will make Sep 30th - this could all be a marketing ploy to hype it up a little more. I know they don't need to but surely it won't hurt. And then there are all those people who pre-ordered it. Wouldn't it be nice for them if a copy turns up on the door step at the end of the month when they didn't know whether they actually would get it or would have to wait till nearly Christmas.

Electronic Boutique told me HL2 is coming out on November 30th, 2003. I think Anandtech said the HL2 benchmark is coming out on Septermber 30, 2003.
