Soldier Of Fortune 2

I've heard alot about this game. I played the multiplayer open beta and I was quite impressed with the texture quality and overall graphics of the game.

I was wondering if there are any beta testers out there who can comment any further on the game.

If there is anyone who just has a good general knowledge of the single player aspect of the game, post here with your info

its a gory game, I played it, seems quite like MOHAA with giblets.... ill have to play it some more to give a better verdict

Yes, it is gorey, but i heard that the SP is quite immersive. Also, the multiplayer has quite a few modes, including infiltration and elimination. It could be the next cs, who knows.

I'm picking this puppy up the day it comes out! This is the game I'm upgrading my systems for and getting ready for, the original SoF is still probably my most re-played game. (I'm really looking forward to the random mission generator....

Yes, the random mission generator should be quite interesting. Something new to the fps world, could catch on.

i have the beta (single player, not the mp test)
and i must say its rather fun to play, nothing realy special, ghoul on q3 with nice ideas for maps , takes alot to impress me nowdays tho, fps-wise

and the random mission generator, dont get your hopes high

It was fun the first 10 minutes then it just wasnt anymore..... it felt and looked like all other recent fps games i think, so nothing special. Maybe that you can shoot off half the head but it didnt really look cool so that blew it.

yeah SOF2 was a major disappointment for me, especially after MOHAA, it looked a little like a clone, with giblets/gore. and when Dungeon Siege came out, I forgot all about it. I might give it another play soon, but its certainly not earth shattering.

I don't know. I would tend to disagree and say that SOF 2 will be quite a promising game. I think we shouldn't knock the single player till we try it in the final version

for real... i played cs back around 1.1 for awhile, but forgot about it...

time went on, and a friend of mine got me back into it at 1.3... we both DLed the SOF2 beta and were hooked. oh, it's lovely... INF plays like CS's plant the bomb scenarios, and TDM is good when you just wanna run n gun without fear.

we both got the 1.4 update to CS the other day, and RARELY boot it up...

You know, 1.4 had very few changes, and all the changes the made did increase the games value. It's an adjustment, yes, but a worthwhile one.

But back on topic, who thinks soldier of fortune 2 will give cs a run for its money?

Egh.. SOF2 seems to be too much of a different game from CS. There are too many differences to compare the two! SOF2 has nothing to do with money in its multiplayer games to buy stuff, all you do is either pick stuff up or choose to begin with a certain gear. The gameplay is very different as well.
