Have any of you tried this demo? WOW!!

It has an awkward camera/character control that I'm not very fond of, but there are some AWESOME graphics and features in this thing.

This thing is tremendous!!!

If I was playing this on a bigger screen than my 19 " monitor, it would be so immersive. I love how, right in the midst of battle, the fiery boulders are hurled into the courtyard and the dirt and smoke can completely hide where you are and those around you for a few seconds.

I was able to complete the demo with the following scores:

i hope this isnt crappy like two towers for ps2/xbox/gc
that game jus bored me after 2 days. it was like playing a sega genesis game with 3d graphics. so linear, and then a boss fight and little 10 second scenes from the movie what a rip!

This demo is about what I would expect from a 3D Diablo. There is a crazy amount of action but I am having touble getting used to the controls/camera. If I can adjust to the controls and camera angles, this should be really cool. Nice recommendation Dyre.

Yes, I have the same concern about the camera/controls. But, I try to remind myself that whatever direction Gandalf is facing, THAT'S forward. The game plays a LOT like Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb is this respect. Even the 'auto target nearest enemy' feature.

well it seems like Two Towers but improved... the look of the game seems it looks better on an LCD.

i hope its done PROPERLY and follows the story better than stupid Two Towers. i jus got sick of repititive moves and objectives and SO LINEAR.

I tried it as soon as I got my issue of PC Gamer in the mail. It was on the CD of demos that come with it.

Having just played the Chaos Legion PC Demo I had downloaded. I was a little unwhelmed by ROTK's graphics.

In CL, you could see every strand of hair on the guy's head, the indentation of emblem on his frayed trench coat, every little bump, and crevice of the bug/crab-like creatures. An ARMY of creatures on screen at the same time including the "Legion" creature that's on your side at 1024X768. Basically, a HUGE leap in graphics quality over the PS2 version.

I was kinda expecting that for ROTK, but it wasn't. It looked exactly like a PS2 game. Even at 1024X768. The demo was cool with it raining boulders, archers, flaming spears, shooting magic shots, slicing 'n' dicing goblins & cave trolls. It's just I won't get the PC version, unless there's some really cool extras. The PS2 version will be just fine, especially since I can take it over to a friend's hous for some multiplayer action that way. That, and if it controls anything like the Two Towers game I own. It'll be easier to control as well. Since I used the right analog stick for some smooth flowin' sword moves, unlike the PC demo's control scheme of 8 buttons.

FYI: I have a Geforce4 Ti4200 w/8X AGP, 512MB DDR2100 memory, Athlon XP 1800+ (147x11.5) running under Win XP Home.

Game play was great GFX too , Controlls sucks with just keyboard and mouse need a pc game pad for this one.
